Bible Believer Kicked-off The Bus

Honestly, I see it as the "we refuse the right to refuse service to anyone" kind of thing.

And did she really have to walk home? Seems to me she would have just picked up another bus . . .

 

Sounds to me like the only one bothered by this was the bus driver. She didn't FORCE Bibles on anyone, she OFFERED them. Obviously, she has been doing this for some time. Maybe they got a new bus driver...

 

Does anybody know if the moonies still congregate in public places like bus stations, airports, etc. ?

Sounds like more anti-Christian bias to me. Good for her for suing.

 

Moonies and the like are allowed to congregate in public places such as airports, but are limited to areas where business is not conducted (so as not to interfere with the business at hand). In other words, you won't find them near the checkout counters or terminals, but they might be near the entrance or escalator.

BTW - Moonies are not allowed to approach people for distribution of material/literature on buses. So if that's what this woman was doing, then the busdriver was right to remove her from the bus. That wouldn't be a case of anti-Christian bias, it would be a matter of not treating the Christian differently than anyone else. But admittedly, I haven't heard all the details of the case yet. I'm curious to know more.

I do understand there to be a policy about handng out literature on public transitr and that that's what's being challenged, in which case we cannot put any of this on the bus driver.

 

Sounds like we are racing towards the last days. The Sodomites get noticed at the prom and the Bible believers get kicked off the bus. Come Jesus!

 

Maybe God just wanted her to get some exercise.

 

If the policy does not allow for distribution of materials, why should Christians be treated differently? Doesn't sound like a case of persecution to me, but a case of enforcement of policies.

How do you know folks at the prom are sodomites? Nothing in the other article says that two men at prom are having sex. Two men kissing, hugging, or dancing (while many will find it offensive) is not sodomy.

A bible believer wasn't kicked off the bus. A solicitor was kicked off the bus. Big difference.

 

Ok question. Serveral years ok...and I mean SEVERAL! {I was in second grade} a man came to our school passing out Bibles for all who wanted one. Whats diffrent here about this woman offering Bibles to someone on a bus?
I give people tracks everywere. I've yet to be kicked out of any place. I don't see that as soliciting. I see that as offering someone a chance a salvation. I'm not trying to sell anything. I don't think this woman was either. So were's the diffrence?

What did Paul and Peter {I think} do in Acts after they were commanded not to teach in Jesus name? AFTER they were beaten? They went out and preached! And guess who's name they taught in?
God gave us the great commision. NOT SUGGESTION! We ought to be able to give anyone that wants one a Bible or track.
I wonder if they'd have kicked her off had she been carrying on a converstation trying to lead someone to Christ, who was interested?

Elsewhere, we're also told to submit to authority. Barring of solicitation (which doesn't simply equate to the exchange of money) does not conflict with God's word. She's not prohibited from passing out bibles on the street, or leaving tracts on windshields of cars on public-owned lots.

I did a bit of digging, and the difference between being ina bus, and being ono the street is that the law provides for something called "reasonable privacy". When you're on a bus, train, or similar public transportation, the law provides you with a certain amount of protection to be left alone. Of of the reasons for this protection is because the locale is a confined space, and the ability to escape a solicitor on a bus or train is extremely limited. It's the same protection that says you can have a dog or cat on the street, but you can't bring your dog or cat in the bus.

But think of another scenario. If you were approached by someone who tried to leave you with a Book of Mormon, or copy of the Koran, or Satanic Bible, would you be so sure about that person's freedom to do so?

 

This is funny & might have been considered a spiritual assault, if they wanted to press charges. My best friend told me that when she was in college, she and her boyfriend were snuggling on a blanket in a public park. An older woman threw a tract on top of them & walked away.

 

It's sad that she was kicked off the bus for offering tracts and bibles to people.

But I have a big problem with the lawsuit.

Did not Jesus tell us that we would be persecuted? (2 Timothy 3:12) Did I miss the next part that said when we are to sue?

Funny cause the Bible I have says that when we are persecuted we are to rejoice (Matthew 5:12). I've never known someone who was rejoicing about something to file a lawsuit about it.

Apparently she thought that because she was passing out Bibles she was exempt from the law. Hmm - maybe she should turn in one of those Bibles she was passing out and read Romans 13
