both of these entertainers have died.
    this verse comes to mind>>

Jam 4:14 Whereas ye know not what [shall be] on the morrow. For what [is] your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

I saw Johnny Cash singing on the Billy Graham crusade that airs ever now and then on tv. If he was not saved, why did Billy Graham have him singing? So, maybe he was.

I watched a documentry on Johnny Cash. He was saved!

John Ritter played a Baptist Preacher on the Waltons, but I do not know if he was saved in real life.

We can not do anything about them now, but we can pray for both their families.

Johnny Cash was certainly a long time christian. I've heard him talk about it before, long ago. John Ritter I've never heard anything about.

At one point in his life Cash wrote a book called Man in Black, after he became a Christian he wrote a book called Man in White in which he talked about his conversion. We can never truly know a mans heart, but I believe that Cash did become a Christian

Actually it doesn't make any difference now. Not trying to be mean, but there life here is over and the decisions they made here are eternal. God knew what they would do, so He is not surprised either.

By the way I did hear Johnny Cash give his testimony one time but I never heard Ritter ever speak out for the Lord.

    WHO'S NEXT?

I seem to recall that John Ritter being a practicing Methodist, but that is strictly heresay. I'm not sure.

While we can assume that soneone's a Christian if they've made it public, we shouldn't assume anyone's NOT a Christian just because we don't know. We're not their family or friends.

did you mean methodist as strictly in heresy?
some methodist probably are, i knew of a very liberal methodist preacher, one of my first post was related to his liberal unbiblical teaching and preaching. needless to say i have told him numerous times to resign and leave his office

did you mean methodist as strictly in heresy?</font>[/QUOTE]From the context, I think he meant to type "hearsay".

\Hear"say`\, n. Report; rumor; fame; common talk; something heard from another.

I thought Johnny Cash died a few weeks ago...but I guess that was his wife. Weird how when a couple have a very close bond, they seem to follow each other in death within a short amount of time. (hope that doesn't sound harsh)

I was shocked to hear that John Ritter died this morning when I was watching Good Morning America while drinking my coffee. I told my husband as soon as I heard it, and said to him " He was our age" To which my husband pointed out that he was actually a little older. He was going to turn 55 in two weeks. I didn't know until today that he was married to the actress that was on the show Wings. Not the main leading lady, but the one who played her sister. He also had a very little daughter. When I saw a picture of that little girl and the wife, I empathised.

God bless the families of the recently passed away. May the Lord grant them the strength to get through this sad time.

June Carter Cash died in May. She, like her husband, gave a sweet, clear testimony of faith in Christ and repentance from sin.

    Hello,

Just because a man says He's a Christian doesn't make him one. A man can give a crystal clear testimony of salvation and know in his heart just what the gospel is and means. That does not mean the man actually gave his heart and life to Christ. Come on folks, don't be so gullible. You know the Anti-Christ will be much more deceptive when he hits the scene. I personally don't trust " Christian Celebrities" if they don't leave it behind when they begin to follow Christ. Most of them hang out with the Charasmatic crowd and fall when the "spotlight" is off them; Gary Busey and Dian Cannon for example. Even Destiny's Child thinks they are christians while parading around on videos half naked and sing about sex in a vulgar manner. There seems to be alot of Celebrities who believe a very carnal one sided Gospel these days. I'm not saying Johnny Cash wasn't a Christian. That's for God alone to judge. I hope he was. I really do.

Some years back, John Ritter and his wife, co-wrote a book titled, Keep In Step; sharing your faith; a practical handbook.

In the book they both intimated a personal faith in Jesus Christ. Everything they wrote would lead one to believe they were twice born. A good read.

Johnny Cash was a friend and counsellor to many in the music industry. Neither he nor June were hesitant to talk about the Lord in their lives. I think they walked the talk, as the saying goes.

It is a different world they lived in; the entertainment field, and it is easy to cast judgement upon them.

    Cheers,

    Jim

i doubt very much that he was a Christian, i would like to read his book to see what he has to say. his work did condone a very worldly lifestyle and accepted depravity of homosexuals and other immoral lifestyle choices. it is very hard to see that he ever had talked about Jesus if indeed he truly trusted in Him. i didn't see any evidence of conversion unless it was only upon his heart that no one but God knew. it is possible he was a Christian sure, but very improbable.

That was a different John Ritter, Jim. The actor had been married to Nancy Martin for many years and then Amy Yasbeck for only a few years. He married her after their child was born.

He discussed his faith in "Man in Black", his biography. "Man in White" was a biography of the Apostle Paul, written by Cash.
