The translation that I am reading says decency and propriety. I like that better than shamefaced. I feel as if shamefaced means ashamed and bashful  I don't like that interpretation either. I don't think that we as born again Christian women should be ashamed or bashful, but to act with decency and propriety I can understand and agree that would be appropriate behavior.

I guess it is still the interpretation of the words and how we perceive them.

Yes, Sister Wife [IMG] , some English
    translations are better than others.

    1.Timothie II:9-10 (KJV1611):

In like maner also, that women
    adorne themselues in modest apparell,
    with shamefastnesse and sobrietie, not
with ||broided haire, or gold, or pearles,
    or costly aray,
    10 But (which becommeth women
    professing godlines) with good works.

    Sidenote: ||Or, plaited.

The word in the KJV1611 is "shamefastnesse" which
does NOT properly reflect the Greek at all.
Rather implied is that a woman should always
appear (body language, facial features) as though
she has done something bad and shameful.

So then, Sister Wife, what you said is correct:
"I don't think that we as born again Christian women
should be ashamed or bashful, but to act with
decency and propriety I can understand and
agree that would be appropriate behavior."

The problem here is that what Paul said is
REATIVE ("propriety" is realative to one's
    culture) and alleged fundamentalists ADD
    to the fundamentals unwarrented conditions
    for women. The unwarrented condition
amounts to abuse of women. And said
fundamentalists also like to ADD to
    the fundementals their
King James Bible flaw: here they don't even
use the 1611 version but some later change
    that says "shamefacedness".
