    * When you go to buy bread in the grocery store, have you ever wondered which is the freshest, so you "squeeze" for freshness or softness. Did you know that bread is delivered fresh to the stores five days a week?

Monday, Tuesday, Thursda! y, Friday and Saturday. Each day has a different color twist tie. They are:

Monday - Blue Tuesday - Green Thursday - Red Friday - White Saturday -Yellow. So if today was Thursday, you would want red twist tie - not white which is Fridays (almost a week old)!

The colors go alphabetically by color Blue - Green - Red - White -Yellow, Monday through Saturday. Very easy to remember. I thought this was interesting. I looked in the grocery store and the bread wrappers DO have different twist ties, and even the one with the plastic clips have different colors.

You learn something new everyday!!! Enjoy fresh bread when you buy bread with the right color on the day you are shopping.

    * Before you head to he drugstore for a high-priced inhaler filled with mysterious chemicals, try chewing on a couple of curiously strong

    * Achy muscles from a bout of the flu? Mix 1 Tablespoon of horseradish in 1/2 cup of olive oil. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes, then apply it as a massage oil, for instant relief for aching muscles.

    * Sore Throat?? Just mix 1/4 cup of vinegar with 1/4 cup of honey and take 1 Tablespoon six times a day. The vinegar kills the bacteria.

    * Cure urinary tract infections with alka-seltzer. Just dissolve two tablets in a glass of water and drink it at the onset of the symptoms.
Alka-Seltzer begins eliminating urinary tract infections almost instantly-even though the product was never been advertised for this use.

    * Honey remedy for Skin Blemishes......Cover the blemish with a dab of honey and place a band-aid over it. Honey kills the bacteria, keeps the skin sterile, and speeds healing. Works overnight.

    * Easy eyeglass protection....To prevent the screws in eyeglasses from loosening, apply a small drop of Maybelline Crystal Clear nail polish to the threads of the screws before tightening them.

    sticks to the dried glue.

    * Hunt's tomato paste boil cure....Cover the boil with Hunt's tomato paste as a compress. The acids from the tomatoes soothe the pain and bring the boil to a head (so will bacon).

    * Balm for broken blisters.....To disinfect a broken blister, dab on a few drops of Listerine....a powerful antiseptic.

    * Heinz vinegar to heal bruises...Soak a cotton ball in white vinegar and apply it to the bruise for 1 hour. The vinegar reduces the blueness and speeds up the healing process.

    * Vaseline cure for hairballs.....To prevent troublesome hairballs, apply a dollop of vaseline petroleum jelly to your cat's nose. The cat will lick off the jelly, lubricating any hair in its stomach so it can pass easily through the digestive system.

    Sue,
I absolutely love helpful hints! Did you know that if you cut a drinking straw in about thirds and stick it in a pie when you bake it it will boil up in the straws instead of boiling over and messing up your oven. Have you ever heard that before?

    God bless you!

    Hi Grace,

I have been giving my cats Vaseline for years!! Not only does it not harm them in any way, but it really keeps the "hair-ball choking" down.

About once or twice a month, I put a "dollop" on my finger and they eat it. I don't like putting it on their paws or nose because it freaks them out!

    Peace-

I had to add a few...

    * Small Burns, Cut a tomatoe and keep it on the burn. Helps in healing and takes the sting away.

    * Clean your silver and sparkle diamonds with paste toothpaste. (NOT GEL) Use a baby toothbrush it's softer...

And Dawn dish soap will remove anything...

It's especially helpful with oil and grease stains.. put some on the grease stain, toss it in the washer, and there ya go.

I also use it on my floors, tubs, etc..

Dawn is a miracle product [IMG]

This came from a jeweler! When you have a difficult time getting your rings off because your fingers a swelled up a bit. Spray a little bit of window cleaner on your finger. The ring will slide right off and not get all gummed up like it does with soap scum. Also works when you can't get your rings back on after you have a shower.

A little something I had posted on an eariier post...if you have rust stains on stainless steel, rub it with aluminum foil. It will turn black and then be gone. It really works!
