On another thread there was some discussion on what abbreviations to use for various translations.

Some (can only guess "who") insist on calling the AV1611 or one of its revisions the "KJB" or King James Bible.

It is the King James Version of the Bible. That is "KJV".

I joked that it might be like the Russian secret police the "KGB" since my edition of the AV1611 was in 1769 in the reign of King George III of Great Britain. That would make it KGB if we were accurate!!

(BTW, I also dislike the NASB for the same reason of its title; it is a revision of the 1901 American Standard Version - one of my favorites - so not just picking on the only bunch)

    Anyway . . .

Thought a thread on "abbreviations" used here might be in order, so folks are not confused in the great variety of discussions about versions and translations. Go ahead and list some that are helpful to you.

It is OK because that is its title, but I think the OP made it clear he doesnt agree that the NASB should have done so.

However, THE AUTHORS of the KJV made no such label of their translation.

    Do you understand?

LOL! Sure, go ahead and make lying accusations against me! That is all KJVOs can do! You can't be honest so you resort to ad hominem.

But all those on the BB who have met me in person all know that you are lying. LOL! :D

    Slambo,

I think the "DUH" came from the fact that so many KJVO just type a response when they havent a clue what the prior post was saying.

Perhaps rather than getting upsset at others pointing out your mistake, you could take a little time, and make sure you understand the statement in which you are replying to?

Name one error in the KJV that modern bibles have corrected.

    That will prove it.

I to don't care for people who use the word Bible after a translation. I never call the ESV (my favorite [IMG] ) the English Standard Bible. Even though it is a very good translation of the Bible.

    Slambo, you crack me up.

Rather than just say "Well, ya got me, Im a KJVO" OR "No, I am not a KJVO, here is why", he just takes his ball and goes home.

Didnt the Devil do that when Jesus handed him his rearend in a little battle one day?
