While not explicitly Baptist, many Baptists have studied and do study there. I'm hearing good things about this school, foremost of which is that they are seeking to rectify their lack of legit accreditation. Anyone else have any info or experiences?

If you are speaking of Trinity Theological Seminary in Newburgh, Indiana, I received my D.Min. degree from there, while my wife finished her bachelor's degree there as well.

I am an IFB but many of the students were Southern Baptists. The commencement speaker that year (1989)was a pastor of a large conservative Southern Baptist church in Florida. ;)

The material I studied was excellent and provided a good cap to my undergrad and master's degree. Since it was a terminal degree for me, accreditation was not a factor. However, it did not stop my wife from going on to get her master's degree from another school with a more conventional, resident program. Like all education, you get out of it what you put into it. :D

I am pursuing my MA in Apologetics/Philosophy from there. Definately not a school for slackers.

I have just registered and will be seeking a Bachelor's in Theology from Trinity. I am glad to read about other's good experiences with Trinity.

FMeekins - where are you in Maryland? I am in southwest Baltimore county, less than 10 minutes from the Inner Harbor in Baltimore.

Many "non-traditional" colleges and seminaries have arisen in recent years. But Trinity is credited with piloting the UWW (University Without Walls) system back in the "horse and buggy" era.

Today you can get some good training at other schools, but I loved Trinity's actual taped lectures, textbooks, assignments, etc. Their theology was straight as an arrow (back in the late 70's when I took courses).

And for the summer symposiums on campus, we had men like Tim LaHaye and Henry Morris. Don't know what is happening this summer.

    Two thumbs up.

My understanding is that Trinity is accredited through the University of Liverpool in England. In fact, I have a friend who recently received his degree fron there, and I believe his diploma has the University of Liverpool on it underneath Trinity's name.I think he paid a little extra for it, though.

P.S. I just checked Trinity's website, which says that they are "endorsed" by the University of Liverpool (a prestigious school) and that they have been accredited since 1991 by an American accrediting institution.

They are accredited by NAPNSC, which is not recognized by the U.S. Dept. of Education.

Correct. However, school officials admit they are seeking recognized accreditation but will not disclose who they are seeking it from (Legally I don't think they can because it would imply things).

I live just outside of DC. Only a course and a half to go until I finish my Masters in Apologetics/Philosophy through Trinity. It is a good school.
