I am very proud of the colleges I attended. But I have a hard rule that I don't list too much personal information on a public board, since it opens the door to abuse. (I had a bb member who is no longer active seek me out at my home church a few years ago. It was kinda creepy).

Two years at BJU, then transferred to Tennessee Temple College (now a U.) where I got my B. A. in Bible in 1976. Six years to get that degree.

Started the master's program at Temple in the Fall of 1976, left for other pastures, became a missionary, took another semester there on our first furlough. Continued taking modular grad courses every furlough, then well as Internet courses from Maranatha Baptist Grad School. Finally, this furlough I took one last semester and finished up my M. A. in Biblical Studies at Maranatha.

So, 29 years for my M. A. Can anyone top that? Did I set a record?

I think that one year MA and one year D Min are looking better every time I see them ...

 

What school are you talking about? I'm curious.

I've never heard of a DMin degree allowing an M.A. for admission, though that doesn't mean there isn't one.

Is Maranatha Grad School of Theology a part of Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown? Or are they two different places?

Just curious, my husband and I went to MBBC in the early '90s.

 

So, bapmom, we are fellow alumni if you and your husband didn't transfer! My son also graduated from MBBC, and we got our MAs together. He is now at Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary.

Same place, going strong. Dr. Dave Jaspers is doing a splendid job as President, many of the teachers you studied under are still there, and some great new teachers are there too. The standards of spirituality and of scholarship are high, with most of the new teachers working on their doctorates and all of them serving the Lord.

Being in Milwaukee, we are only an hour away from there, but we don't get over there much anymore. So its good to hear good things. My husband has always been an admirer of Dr. Jaspers, as well.

My daughter attends MBBC and we are thrilled with what she is getting there, and so is she. Ditto John of Japan!

 

Well i am not in college yet i have about 2 1/2 years yet. But i like to go to Tri-state baptist college or oklahoma baptist collage. so im not sure. Well talk to ya later

I arived at TTU in 1976, and it took 6 years to get my B.A. in Bible even though I already had an A.A. degree in Fine Arts. Still want to get a Master's but hard to find time between pastoring two mission churches, teaching in a Bible Institute, and building a church building on the mission field.

 

Hey Mexdeaf, I took six years for that B. A. in Bible, too.

Maybe we nodded to each other on campus some time!
