Quick question, who is the intended audience of these tracts? Are they irish, urban/rural, level exposure to Christianity, protestanism, catholicism? This may help in determinining the best literature to hand out.

There is a group based in Alberta, Canada, who send out tracts free (based on KJV). They are called Evangelical Tract Distributors. Their web site is www.evangelicaltract.com.

    Kind regards

Don't be too hasty to discount "Chick Publications". AFter being in the military for over 15 years and also preaching in the Juvenile Correction Facilty (ten years), the Chick Tracts were the MOST effective for these groups of people. In different situations, different tracts work. I wouldn't use a Chick tract for every person, but I definitely wouldn't say trash them. I've seen too many saved while reading "This was your life" or "One Way - A wordless tract" or "Love Story".

Using what works even here in CHina -- "THis was your Life". People, especially young people, love the illustrated message. It catches their heart and mind. Now on the other hand, the older generation, seems to consider it a cartoon and sometimes offensive.

As a "fisher of men" you have to use different bait for different people.

www.wayofthemaster.com has great tracts that are interactive. They are strictly biblical yet are innovative and intersctive. They start the dialogue. They call them "ice breakers".

I appreciate these responses. The Way of the Master series is helpful.

Maybe with the Chick tracts I have just been put off with some of the more sensational types.

Gold Dragon, those things certainly need to be taken into account. I am really looking for a supplier with as broad a supply as possible.

My area would be mostly protestant with an above average exposure to "Christianity".

Here are some excellent Bible study tracts. They're downloadable in a self extracting file for eSword. The verses listed in the tracts are the KJV, but you can hover over them and get a window with the translation of your choice: Bible Study Tracts

It contains tracts on the Doctrine of Election; Days of Lot; Eternal Life; Faith or Believe; Have, Hold, Esteem; Inheritance; Jewels; John 3:16; Adoption; John 4; Little Children; Paul's Gospel; The Blood; John 5:24; Presumptuous Sin; Redemption; Willful Sin; Unpardonable Sin; The Word of God; Grace.

Given today's culture, I recommend writing your own tract for the following reasons:

    1) You can then be sure that the theology matches what you believe.
    2) You can produce a tract that does not take all day to read.

Finding pre-published tracts that communicate the gospel clearly and don't take all afternoon to read is an impossibility.

Navigation Design is a mission organization established to help churches and Christian workers with their printing needs. We believe that every piece of Christian material reflects our King.

We design tracts for churches, missionaries, and evangelists. Currently available in English and Spanish. You can also choose tracts without church name and info.

These tracts have a very clear Gospel message. We use only KJV scripture.

I know many here don't like Chick Tracts.. and understandably so. many are too hard nosed or graphic and do the opposite of what they are intended. However... I find that the tract "What is your life" I believe it is called, from Jack Chick to be very effective. it's eye opening, convicting, uncompromising... yet scriptural. Like most chic tracts it's extremely strait up with it's measage, but it doesn't have as much of the.. well, for lack of better term... ruckmanite flavor.

It does appear some Chick tracts are more acceptable than others.

I think we have a lot at the church Paul Levin. They seem good as they start with a personal experiance and then relate that to the Gospel. They are short and to the point.

I agree with the 'shock factor' of some of the tracts that have been discussed. I do, however, a question as to thier being 'too much truth' or describing too much. We live in a society that is bombarted with sex on TV in commercials, shows, etc. I believe that people have become de-sensitized to sex, drugs and other things and therefore the consequences thereof are not fully recognizable. We must present the WORD with all of the truth it contains, whether graphic or not.

I personally don't like chick tracts because of the info he distorts..
I prefer to make my own..
I am going to check out the tracts that hope of glory suggested on the page back.. only because i like e-sword :D

I like Way of the master stuff also...
It doesn't matter what you use, as long as it is doctrinally sound... just do something.

It took me a moment to figure it out. The intstallation path is faulty. When you tell it to install, look at the path, and make sure it's going into your eSword folder.

There is a danger in relying on shock tactics or gimmicks. Don't get me wrong, I believe they have their place.

R.A. Torrey used to say, "It does not matter whether they believe the Bible or not. It is the Sword of the Spirit so just stick it to them!"

I would agree with Pastorc, we just need to give them the Word.

I double checked the path and it went to my e-sword folder. After I start e-sword, how do I pull them up?

If it went to your eSword folder, then they will show up under topics. (I'm going to talk to him about putting it under one topic with different chapers, but right now they are all different topics.) However, it may just look like it went to eSword. It may have created a folder called "c;" and put it under an eSword sub-folder. (He's corrected it now, but you can look for it there.)
