Thanks, JR. It is proportedly Acts 29 that was never included in the canon because it was lost. I have no idea and was wondering what others thought about it.

Well, I can clearly see that verse 13 is ridiculous since the Druids were clearly pagans. And the nonsense about God proclaiming that Pilate went to Heaven after killing himself while I suppose wracked with guilt is a real joke.

All this was I suppose forged to lend forth the notion that the lost tribes of Israel came to Great Briton as some still believe.

I'm no expert, but this text certainly sounds like something created to describe what Paul did in Spain, since Scripture only states his intention to go there (Romans 15:23-24). I doubt that it has any historical validity.

    Spurious, IMO.

There is not even a hint of this document in church history; it was not published until 1871 and there is no manuscript.

It's interesting that the document mentions the hand-washing scene with Pilate; Luke didn't include that bit in his gospel.

The most likely explanation for this bit of apocrypha is that the "seventh numbering" was meant to refer to the seventh British census (1861) and give credibility to budding British Israelism.

Well, I don't see that it proves British Israelism but I do see where it is heresy.

I can't see Paul falling for the old Druid trick and giving him a "kiss of peace" either.

Just goes to show how things can be crafted to appear genuine and if someone doesn't have a good working knowledge of the Bible, how easy it is to deceive.

Thanks, fellas, for your input. [IMG]

It sure has the ring of bogus-ness to me. Most of these documents have been known to be fake for years. The ones that were around in the first few centruries were evaluated back then and found to be fakes, which is why they were left out of the canon of scripture. Old news.
