    God Cannot Deny Himself

I have just looked again at the OP. I see nothing there that demands 100% accord with God's truth. Of course, that should be the aim, but we are all human and therefore our knowledge of God and His truth is limited. Thew OP even gives examples of what they mean, including a change of...

Believing Into Christ based on God crediting your faith as righteousness

But I wasn't even attempting to answer your enquiry. I was responding to your accusation of being off-topic.

GOD AND FATHER OF JESUS CHRIST

That just cannot be correct, in view of what John writes: “1 ¶ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” (Joh 1:1-3 NKJV) Just in case...

    God Cannot Deny Himself

Sorry but what is obscene about saying that a false gospel doesn't bring anybody to salvation?

Believing Into Christ based on God crediting your faith as righteousness

It is surely not off topic when somebody (in this case you) includes an unusually-worded quote from Scripture without saying which translation it is from, to ask that person which version it is. You say John "repeatedly uses "believers into Him" in his gospel." The only bible verse I can find...

Believing Into Christ based on God crediting your faith as righteousness

Would it not be easier for everybody just to name the translation you mean? Not doing so makes it seem as though you are unwilling t do so. I stress that I am not saying that you are unwilling, just that saying "The version that translates "eis" as into rather than as "in" " instead of simply...

Does the Bible teach a Christian Must abstain from all alcohol?

I don't believe that the bible teaches complete abstinence, but it does teach against drunkenness. I don't drink alcohol, simply because I don't like the taste of alcoholic drinks, and anyway, alcohol is not permitted with the medication I have to take.

Has God Ordained a certain style for Musical worship?

Do you have any biblical support for saying that the only true language for worship is Latin (or Greek? Jesus said: ““God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”” (Joh 4:24 NKJV) True worship must be in spirit and in truth. He said nothing about true worship...

Is Open Theism a heresy then?

Thanks, Van. Yes, I am sure that you have studied Open Theism far more than I have. However, I was rather confused by your reply. In Post 3 of this thread, you wrote, "Calvinism is based on Open Theism." Now you seem to be saying that Open Theism is the opposite of determinism. You then say...

Is Open Theism a heresy then?

Certainly not on the definitions of Open Theism/openness theology that I found. For example: "Openness theology denies that God even knows what we will do. Openness theologians argue that it is logically inconsistent to say that God knows in advance what someone would freely do in a...

KJV Onlyest 1611 Psalm 12:7 note, question.

But translating the bible isn't "doing what is right in one's own eyes." That is only true if someone deliberately mistranslates the Hebrew or Greek to fit their own ideas. Also, Logos1560 was writing about translations of the eternal word of God, so I am not sure how you were able to detect...

KJV Onlyest 1611 Psalm 12:7 note, question.

Is it a desire for a better revelation that causes people like the Wycliffe Bible Translators to translate the Hebrew and Greek Scriptures into languages which don't yet have the bible? How is that different, in principal, to translating the Hebrew and Greek into the Engish we use today? Many...

    The Heart Of The Gospel

Whenever I have come across the phrase, "the sinner's prayer," it has always referred to sinners being invited to "come to the front" of some evangelistic meeting, and being told to repeat the words of a set prayer, such as: "Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your...

    The Heart Of The Gospel

Let me clarify first of all that I did not say that it isn't possible to confess that Jesus is Lord in prayer. What I meant was that confessing Jesus Christ as Lord does not happen only in prayer. It happens when giving one's testimony. It happened when the Ethiopian answered Philip. And...

KJV Onlyest 1611 Psalm 12:7 note, question.

I do not believe translations are inspired. I believe God inspired the original bible, written in Hebrew and Greek, and I believe He helps translators of His word. I assure you I am not trying to be the smartest person in the room. I am sorry if I gave you such a boastful impression - it was...

    Vatican Reforms

I am sorry, you seem to have misunderstood my post. You had quoted 1 Thessalonians 4:16, which in the KJV includes the phrase "trump of God." You seemed to be applying it to Donald Trump. The word used is just an old word for "trumpet". It translates the Greek word salpigx, which means the...

KJV Onlyest 1611 Psalm 12:7 note, question.

Only by looking up in a concordance the meaning of the Hebrew word used. Before that, I imagined it meant to stop something happening. I looked it up because I couldn't get our usual meaning of "prevent" to make sense in the verses where it occurs in the KJV. Incidentally, another example of...

    The Heart Of The Gospel

Yes, calling out to God is prayer. However, was the Ethiopian calling out to God when he said to Philip: “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”” (Ac 8:37 NKJV) No, he was replying to Philip. Was he confessing the Lord Jesus Christ? Certainly.
