Is Satan A Real Entity Who Can Influence English Language Translators and Subtlety Impact Their Translations

Thank you for y taking the trouble to reply. All I meant by my short post was that the Methodist Church cannot have been "birthed from the Keswick movement," because Methodism began in the mid-18th century, over a hundred years before the Keswick Movement started.

Is Satan A Real Entity Who Can Influence English Language Translators and Subtlety Impact Their Translations

The Keswick Convention didn't start until 1875, long after Methodism started with the Wesleys.

Is Satan A Real Entity Who Can Influence English Language Translators and Subtlety Impact Their Translations

I don't know any bible translators personally, and the prayer diary I get from Wycliffe Bible Translators tends to give details of projects, problems in the countries being worked in, and matters for praise. I can't remember reading reports of how the devil attacks translators. I can imagine...

John MacArthur deathly ill/ (edit) John is now with the Lord

He has, as the following, just sent out by Evangelical Times, shows: John MacArthur (1939-2025) American Bible teacher, John MacArthur has died. The organisation that he led, Grace To You, issued a statement saying:

Is Satan A Real Entity Who Can Influence English Language Translators and Subtlety Impact Their Translations

First, the devil misquoted Psalm 91:11, or rather, quoted it incompletely and out of context; he didn't translate it. Second, yes I agree that Satan is real. He will seek to attack all Christians in whatever work they do for the Lord, and that includes bible translators. That is a good reason...

Are there NT Churches apart from Baptist Churches then?

It would depend what that individual church believed. For example, I once attended a Christmas Day service at a Methodist church. The "sermon" consisted of inviting the children present to come to the front and show off the Christmas presents they had received. Jesus was not even mentioned...

If The Trinitarian Bible Society Did a revised Kjv Would KJVO accept it?

I suppose a scriptural example of the same thing would be: The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. Psalm 23:1 Ro "want" something then meant to lack it. Now, it means to strongly desire something.

Is it okay to use the NKJV?

It depends on the edition. Many NKJV bibles are printed with copious cross-references. Whichever translation one uses, it is a good idea to check, using a concordance, what the original Hebrew or Greek word meant. The concordance will show every place where the same original word is used...

Is This really Lordship Salvation view then?

True, you don't know who the rescuer is who saves you from a burning building. However, the bible says that to be saved in the biblical sense, one must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. You cannot believe on Him if you don't know Who He is. Yes, to the natural man. When we are saved it is by...

Is it okay to use the NKJV?

I agree. There are many words and phrases that mean something completely different now to what they mean in the KJV. Some examples are: prevent, carriages, suffer, conversation, replenish and closet.

Is This really Lordship Salvation view then?

But who is this Jesus who isn't Lord? How can you believe in the biblical Jesus if you don't know Who He is? Being Lord is an integral part of Who He is. I should make clear that I don't mean that a sinner has to understand all the theological details of His Lordship in order to be saved...

Harm of following "Free Grace" Theology

That is very helpful. Like you, I believe that grace must be free, or it isn't grace. But it seems from what you say that some use the term "Free Grace Theology" to mean that repentance and good works do not necessarily accompany salvation. I think the term "Free Grace" has a meaning...

is there such a thing as a 'Baptist Eschatology" Church statement of belief?

The verse you mention says: “And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.” (Da 12:2 NKJV) It doesn't specify whether it will b a resurrection of just the soul, or a bodily resurrection. Anyway, sorry I...

Do You Know the Baptist Distinctives?

Ah! All is clear now. Thanks. You are referring to the so-called "Canons of Dort", not the basic 5 points themselves. Thanks again.

John R. Rice and the KJV

Unless "free grace" means something different where you are than the fact that salvation is by God's grace, and that grace is free, then I don't think easy believism describes free grace theology. I have always seen easy believism used to refer to the idea that people are saved by saying the...

When The Enemy Tells The Truth

Yes, and another example of this is: ““Who can forgive sins but God alone?”” (Mr 2:7 NKJV)

is there such a thing as a 'Baptist Eschatology" Church statement of belief?

Matthew specifies that their bodies were raised: “51 Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, 52 and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53 and coming out of the...

Is This really Lordship Salvation view then?

I have never been sure what precisely is meant by "Lordship Salvation." If it means believing that Jesus is Lord, and that those who claim to believe in Him are to obey Him, then I agree with it. (If it means something more than that, then I would need to know what the "something more" is...

Do You Know the Baptist Distinctives?

Where does it say that? The first of the five points of Calvinism is about total depravity, and says nothing about who is and who is not elect. Like you, I do not believe that children are elected because of their parents' faith.
