    Is vigor same as sin?

As it seems from sources I have looked at that very few of the manuscripts have the part about Phoebe/Phebe writing the letter, I don't believe she did. An even better reason for believing that she didn't write it is that we are actually told in the letter who did: “I, Tertius, who wrote this...

    Is vigor same as sin?

Not sure which other thread you mean, so I'll justsay here that I see from your link that the "Baptist version" has these words at the end of Romans 16: "Written to the Romans from Corinth by Phebe servant of the church of Cenchrea." However, of course there is nothing to say where those words...

Thanks, and thanks for the link.

    Is vigor same as sin?

In that case I apologise. I had never heard of a Baptist revision of the AV before reading about it on this thread.

    Is vigor same as sin?

Phoebe wrote Romans? Yet Romans opens: “1 ¶ Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God 2 which He promised before through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures,” (Ro 1:1-2 NKJV) Phoebe is mentioned by Paul in Romans 16: “I commend to you Phoebe...

The NIV and ESV refer to Jesus as an “it” in 1 John 1:2

That's fine. I'm sure it was a genuine mistake. Thanks.

    The True Gospel Preacher

Exactly. We don't contribute to our salvation by our works, but if we are saved, that should show itself in good works.

    John Calvin - Textual critic

Thanks for that. Although I usually find myself in agreement with Calvin, I don't agree with what he seems to say about errors in the Scriptures.

The NIV and ESV refer to Jesus as an “it” in 1 John 1:2

But it was you who asked what 3708 was. I replied that it is the Strong's number for the Greek word translated "seen". So you didn't know you were talking about "seen", but you were, because you mentioned the Strong's number for the Greek word for "seen."

The NIV and ESV refer to Jesus as an “it” in 1 John 1:2

    It's the Greek word for "see" or "behold". 1Jo 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

    John Calvin - Textual critic

It would be helpful if you could quote what Calvin actually said or wrote. It seems highly unlikely that he said that God's word has mistakes in it. Are you sure he wasn't referring to a translation of the bible?

    Is vigor same as sin?

Baptists use various translations of the bible, depending mainly on what language they speak. A Baptist who speaks only Japanese is not likely to use any English translation, for example. As for English-speaking Baptists, some use the KJV, some use the NKJV, some use the HCSB, and so on. The...

    Is vigor same as sin?

The words "of the sin" are in italics in the KJV, so they don't translate words from the original Hebrew. I understand that the Hebrew word translated "youth" can mean youth or vigour. So NKJV's "youthful vigour" incorporates both meanings.

Christ SHALL Save His People From Their Sins

Just to make sure I haven't misunderstood you, can you confirm that you believe Jesus came to earth and died on the cross only to save Jews? I agree with what John Gill wrote in his commentary on Matthew 1:21: "By "his people" whom he is said to save are meant, not all mankind, though they...

    The True Gospel Preacher

But as Paul wrote to Christians at Ephesus reminding them of their salvation: “8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works...

    Thanks, that makes things clearer.

Reasons Why Professed Christians Fail To See or Grasp The Doctrines Of Grace

Calvinist believe that, too, that one must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved.

Reasons Why Professed Christians Fail To See or Grasp The Doctrines Of Grace

But the (we) don't trust the WCF/LBCF over the bible. Everything that is stated in those two confessions of faith is backed up with Scripture references. Now, you might disagree with their interpretation of Scripture, but wou shouldn't say that they trust the confessions above Scripture.

Not dure whose post your "No" refers to. JD731? 37818? Somebody else? Just the single word "No" doesn't make it clear.

    "Satisfy"

True, but is he really making God's creation look so dismal? He is not really talking about Creation, but those sorrows, difficulties and troubles that afflict us in our lives - I note that his title was "Through Baca's Vale."
