    The Number Of God’s Elect

What about "whosoever will" would that mean the water of life is there for whosoever?

    The Number Of God’s Elect

How do you define, "Whosoever will let Him take the water of life freely?" There is no Scripture that tells us God decides who will be saved, that is man-made theology at work!

    The Number Of God’s Elect

When the Gospel is given God the Holy Spirit gives the ability to decide. No one can come to Christ unless it is given to man, and the opportunity is given at the hearing of the Gospel.

    The Number Of God’s Elect

It seems as if they are afraid to make a decision for Christ.

    Imputed Righteousness

John would not have said Christ was the satisfaction for the sins of the whole world if were not possible for all men to believe.

    Imputed Righteousness

Speaking of the Pharisees in particular in John 8, they all had the ability to believe and a few of them did. The Pharisees had their own reasons for rejecting Christ just as today there are many reason for rejecting Him. They of all the people should have believed Christ and would have if He...

Come on Alan! He is the satisfaction for our sins, and not for OURS ONLY, but also for the sins of the WHOLE WORLD. There can be no mistake, He is the satisfaction for the sins of all of humanity.

John 15:2, 'Every branch in me...'

Easier said than done, I know, but our goal should be to have no known sin in our lives that we keep repeating.

John 15:2, 'Every branch in me...'

In 1 John 3:6 he is speaking of practicing sin over and over without regard or trying to overcome it. We know that we all sin from time to time and we know that we know Him, so we know John is speaking of continuing to practice sin.

John 15:2, 'Every branch in me...'

The way I see it, the one who Abides in Him" is the one who bears fruit. We're talking about abiding in faith. The one who holds strong to his faith will bear fruit. Some 30, some 60, some 100 fold. I believe the only fruit that can be brought forth, that God will accept, is not us trying...

    1JN.2:2...A.W.Pink

Paul was never confused, you can rest sure of that! The confusion is with us, different approaches from Scripture based on manmade doctrines. Not only from your side but mine also. I don't argue PSA, I've told @JonC I respect his position that it's not clearly stated in Scripture but the...

    Points of disagreement.

Calvinists are good people, and I wonder sometimes, actually I worry at times for the Calvinists I personally know. I wonder if they have been convicted of sin and called on the Lord with a pure heart or are they assuming they are of the elect and leave it all to the Lord. "Whosoever shall...

@Alan Dale Gross When I said in the previous post that I disagreed with all of what you wrote, did "all" mean part of what you wrote or every single line of what you wrote. I'm confused on what "all" means.

Well, I think you already know I disagree with all of this, but that works both ways.

Alan, this it to much to read. I like the compact replies for the most part. lol

    FALSE GOSPELS

I take Paul's words of "another Gospel" as directly affecting salvation, leading one away from the required way God demands to be saved. He dealt with false doctrine in many ways, but became very angry with what he considered another Gospel that would bar the gate to eternal life. For...

The Calvinist Handbook is absent of such facts!

    Imputed Righteousness

A good example of what you've said is David, the man after God's own heart. He desired the things of God, he wanted God's will although he failed many times. The Pharisees in John 8 were just the opposite, they walked after their own desires.

    Imputed Righteousness

What does John 8 teach us about who is not of God?

    Imputed Righteousness

The Divine intervention is the Holy Spirit making the Gospel real in the heart of the hearer. I mentioned several months ago on a thread that I have seen those in our Church service under the conviction of the Holy Spirit many times. Some squirm in their seats and can't sit still, they begin...
