    The State Run Sardisean

And in proceeding to think that the Sardisean church may have been born with John Wycliffe. In reading the man I find good works such as the translations of the bible to English. In reading into the times of Wycliffe I find more war and bloodshed. In reading of the Peasant's revolt of 1381...

    The State Run Sardisean

Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. - Revelation 3:4 Did John Calvin defile his garments in toasting Michael Servetus? “Neither God nor his Spirit have counselled such an action. Christ did not...

    The State Run Sardisean

Martin Luther could also show signs of being Sardisean. In two of his later works, Luther expressed antagonistic, violent views towards Jews and called for the burnings of their synagogues and their deaths. His rhetoric was not directed at Jews alone but also towards Roman Catholics...

    The State Run Sardisean

I believe the churches were birthed in the ages. As I believe all these churches are Christian churches I do not mind to visit or read into them. I also believe that as these churches are birthed in ages, that changes could occur within a movement. A Baptist church can be Sardisean...

    TULIP -

I am a supporter of the bbnradio.org, who will sometimes have a speaker speaking Calvin things. Which, I feel any of the TULIP can be presented truthfully. But… 13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom...

    TULIP -

It’s not that I disagree with the Calvin mindset as much as it is the demonic like spirit behind the man… Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. - Revelation 3:4 Did John Calvin defile his garments...

    Snake handling Churches.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. 19 So then after the...

    Post Covid Dress Standards

I heard someone say… My mom was always on me when I went to church wearing baggy clothes, she always would tell me you need to like nice when you go to church, I believe she gets it from being raised up in a Catholic school. She told me those nuns could be mean and strict. My granny, though not...

    I consider myself Philadelphian

I don't think any two can read Revelation and see the book the same. And i am no fan of other teachings. I do believe, though, this the Laodicean age and the prophecy relevant for our time.

    I consider myself Philadelphian

I just came from fireworks at Liberty University. Jonathan Falwell, who I understand is also pastor of Liberty University as well as the Thomas Road Baptist Church did a wonderful job narrating the event. I would have no problem considering Jonathan Falwell of Philadelphian variety. I am...

Bringing back the memories of revival

I have used the material from this devotional to put together a video entitled, "Saved, sanctified, and filled the Holy Ghost." I have not mentioned tongues, but have likened it to the experiences in the old camp meeting time.

Avoiding the “What’s wrong with the church” crowd

So what am I talking about here? Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. - 1 Corinthians 15:32 The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. For...

Avoiding the “What’s wrong with the church” crowd

I would say that a Freewill Baptist church like foot washing is a pragmatic approach to mean spirited church members. Discussing fellow church members as mean, without any helpful solutions, which happens a lot, is not a pragmatic approach.

Avoiding the “What’s wrong with the church” crowd

Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations(discernings). - Romans 14:1 I was born again into a church with a wonderfully spiritual people. If I could go back in time I would have avoided the, “what’s wrong with the church” crowd, especially those of my...

Bringing back the memories of revival

The last words of Robert Sayers Sheffey... 1902... Who departed this world in great sorrow. The Methodist were abandoning the camp meetings and revivals meetings of the 1800's and Robert fought the apathy of the times until they burnt his beloved Wabash Camp grounds to the ground and never...

Bringing back the memories of revival

Camp Meeting in Virginia! I passed my examinations and that year I was sent to the Wytheville Station and Circuit. That was adjoining my former charge. We reached the old parsonage on the pike just out of Wytheville as Rev. B. W. S. Bishop moved out. Charley Bishop was then a little tow-headed...

Bringing back the memories of revival

As we drove home I did not have much to say, but I listened attentively to the conversation between my uncle and his wife. They were greatly impressed with the meeting, and they spoke first of this one and that one who had "come through" and what a change it would make in the community, as many...
