    Preventing God's Will

So if I tell you that God's will is that nobody goes to Hell, and that people do it anyway due to their failing to trust Jesus as Savior, that is unacceptable to you because that goes against God's "sovereignty". But you can accept that a saved, child of God has the free will to "fail to do the...

". . .you are not among my sheep." (John 10:26)

No, getting saved makes one an overcomer. A saved person will overcome the world For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 1 John 5:4 My point was, this chapter does mention salvation of individuals, so it's not just...

". . .you are not among my sheep." (John 10:26)

You left out verses 21-22 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Three times in chapter 3, Jesus tells the churches...

". . .you are not among my sheep." (John 10:26)

Sorry bro. verse 20 is speaking to individuals and the verse DOES have to do with salvation which in turn involves "regeneration". Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

". . .you are not among my sheep." (John 10:26)

He used the word "regenerate" and I was addressing that.
  7. SheepWhisperer

". . .you are not among my sheep." (John 10:26)

Not until YOU "open the door" and let Him in.
  8. SheepWhisperer

". . .you are not among my sheep." (John 10:26)

That is correct. "Pride goeth before destruction", hard-hearted pride. Who makes us prideful? WE do. How do we lose that? Fall at the feet of Jesus with an attitude of "God be merciful to me a sinner".

". . .you are not among my sheep." (John 10:26)

TCassidy TCassidy, You aren't "regenerated" until the Holy Ghost comes into your heart and makes you a new creature. Regenerate=new creature. And the Holy Ghost doesn't come in until you let Him in. That's how it works. Look here..... Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my...

". . .you are not among my sheep." (John 10:26)

The "seed", in the parable of the sower, is the Word of God. The "ground" is the human heart. The "seed" is viable. Who makes the difference? The condition of the "ground" determines whether viable seed grows or whether it germinates at all.

    Preventing God's Will

The Bible says God warned Adam not to eat the fruit. When Adam disobeyed and did it anyway, God said that "death passed upon all men". The Bible also says that :"the whole creation groaneth". We live in a sin-cursed world. So, no, I would say that it was not God's will that ANY child have "bone...

". . .you are not among my sheep." (John 10:26)

Brother, I tried to show y'all that, though these Jews were ready to stone Him, and were NOT hearing his "voice" and were NOT his sheep, that Jesus invited THEM to "believe" down in verse 38. The point of the story is that you have to be a sheep to hear his voice and, in verse 38, Jesus tells...

    Preventing God's Will

Romans 12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is...

". . .you are not among my sheep." (John 10:26)

Oh yes, they had wheat back then. I have fed handfuls of wheat grain to my sheep too and they ate it just fine, but for me it's more expensive than oats and corn so it was a rare treat. I have planted it though, and the sheep love it. I don't know what you mean Bro, I'm sure sheep eat the same...

". . .you are not among my sheep." (John 10:26)

Yes, I believe NOW because I became "His sheep", back in 1986. Very simple. Jesus told those Jews that His sheep heard His voice because they were His. THEN he told those same Jews that THEY could believe too. Read John 10: 38

". . .you are not among my sheep." (John 10:26)

Does the Bible say anything about verbs? No, it says "works". Believing in your heart is not a work.

". . .you are not among my sheep." (John 10:26)

I believe His words NOW and follow Him NOW, because on May11, 1986, He saved me and I became one of His sheep. John 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. Now read the rest of the scripture....... John 10 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them...

    Preventing God's Will

Before presenting the passage, let's look at who the Book of Ephesians is written to: Ephesians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus: Skip on down to chapter 6 and he's still addressing saints correct...
