WITHOUT LAW AND UNDER THE LAW

There are some issues with this presentation. Maybe it isn’t intended to be this way, but it really sounds like the Roman Catholic faith plus works doctrine. There has only ever been one way that anyone has ever been saved and that is by faith in the Lord. Romans 4:2-5 - For if Abraham were...

    What Love is This?

Matthew 22:36-38 - Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. If we are being honest with ourselves, we all fall short of this.

    Simple Question

I think the same standard should be applied to the OT since it is just as much God breathed as the NT. Job is the earliest authored book and in both Jewish and Christian canon Genesis comes first. Jesus listed them in this order… Luke 24:44 - And he said unto them, These are the words which I...

    Not watching Olympics because….

I’m not watching because I don’t pay for cable TV or streaming anymore.

    Simple Question

I don’t think so. The order of the Jewish scriptures are different from the ones in our English Bibles so I think that wouldn’t be a big deal for the NT as well. We have the freedom to read the books in our Bibles in any order we want and won’t be spiritually harmed by that in any way.

    The KJV Update Project

Exactly and this is evident with all of the different KJVs out there. Let me provide another example just to further demonstrate this. Jeremiah 34:16 (Oxford) - But ye turned and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom he had set at liberty at their...

    The Remnant

If I am going to be as honest to the text as possible then that is what I am commanded to do. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 - All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect...

    Lydia's Conversion

Let me address this point and then you can have the last word if you wish. I agree. Not everyone who is drawn will accept the free gift of salvation. 2 Peter 2:1 - But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in...

    Lydia's Conversion

You are right. They can't on their own. That is why Christ has to draw them. John 12:32 - And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

    The Remnant

I suppose in those days it would be by ships. Today we also have planes and submarines. Sure, there were individuals there that came from other nations, not the entirety of nations. My literal approach to understanding the Bible tells me that all nations means all nations. For example...

    The KJV Update Project

From the KJVO perspective, there are no errors. If they are going to be consistent in their defense then they should have no problem accepting only word updates because that has already been done between 1611 and 1769. There's an arbitrary line that has been drawn.

    The Remnant

That was between Rome and Jerusalem. I see one nation against Israel, not all nations.

    The Remnant

How do you square that with… Zechariah 14:2 - For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

    The Remnant

I wouldn’t even watch it for the heck of it. It’s a poorly made film.

    Lydia's Conversion

I agree that the opening of the heart was all the work of the Lord. But why did He open her heart? I find that answer in Heb 11:6 …He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Presumably, Lydia was a Gentile adherent to Judaism. She still needed to hear the Gospel in order to be saved.

    Lydia's Conversion

I understand that you believe they were born again before faith occurred. I believe that they were born again when faith occurred.

    Lydia's Conversion

What I see here is God's sovereignty and human free choice working together. There is no conflict between the two. Acts 16:14 - And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the...

    Luke 22:19-23 before John 13:2

I know that I'm a finite being and I can't even attempt to figure out the infinite God and how He created the fabric of time. If you think you can then more power to you. Job 38:4 - Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Isaiah 55:9 - For...

    Luke 22:19-23 before John 13:2

It was finished in eternity past before time began which was predestined to take place in our time bound reality. Both are true. Revelation 13:8 - And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
