    Dispensationalism

Wouldn't say the Mosaic sarifices were blasphemous, but they weren't instituted by God, either.

    Dispensationalism

Allow me to comment, even though I'm not a dispensationalist, and this is one reason why. It's a hideous doctrine, and it is another gospel, or rather no gospel. The whole dispensational scheme is a denial of the work of Christ.

Why am I a young earther if all science points to billions of years?

I've known about and liked Stephen C. Meyer for a while. He believes in Intelligent Design, but he's not a Young Earth creationist. Here's a fascinating interview with him: https://smashinginterviews.com/interviews/authors/stephen-c-meyer-interview-the-argument-for-a-mind-behind-the-universe

Why am I a young earther if all science points to billions of years?

This is one subject on which I have not come to a conclusion. However, I do have some firm beliefs in some aspects of this topic. For instance, Hugh Ross believes that suffering and death were occurring before Adam and Eve. I do not. Gap creationism is compatible with my view in this one aspect.

Why am I a young earther if all science points to billions of years?

I probably disagree with what I say about half the time. :)

Why am I a young earther if all science points to billions of years?

Sure, you can call me that, no problem. :) I find Hugh Ross fascinating. I don't think I agree with all his conclusions, but if I had to choose, I would prefer his beliefs to theistic evolution.

Scarlett, thanks for starting the thread. This is very much worth discussing.

Why am I a young earther if all science points to billions of years?

In this area, I don't know what's true, and I don't think anyone else does, either. One thing I do strongly believe: Life can't come from non-life.

Why am I a young earther if all science points to billions of years?

Hugh Ross is a scientist, Christian, and Old Earth-progressive creationist.

    The creation: origins

Were there snakes and lizards on the Ark? And if the flood wiped out everything, where did wasps, fleas, and other pests come from?
  11. E

    The creation: origins

To Young earth creationists: How do you answer the seeming scientific evidence of a very old creation?

    Real Angels

    And some Anglicans. :)

    The creation: origins

Wikipedia article, but it'll do for a summary: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gap_creationism

    The creation: origins

    I suppose I'd say similar.

    The creation: origins

As for me, I lean toward Gap creationism.
  16. E

    Real Angels

But where are we forbidden to do so?
  17. E

    The creation: origins

Which of these do you believe? 1. Young Earh creationism 2. Old Earth creationism a. Gap creationism b. Day-age creationism c. Progressive creationism 3. Theistic evolution 4. Something else

    Real Angels

Tha Anglican Communion has prayers for the departed in their Book of Common Prayer, but not prayers to the dead. And they don't pray for the dead in the sense of praying them out of purgatory.

    Real Angels

I don't understand the acrimony in this thread. We all agree that we shouldn't worship angels. So why all the harshness over whether we can ask them for help or not? I realize their is disagreement on that, but I don't understand the acrimony over it.

    Real Angels

Okay, so let me further differentiate it thusly: I worship only God, not angels too. But if I asked an angel for help, I would not be worshiping the angel.
