Oh Come All Ye Faithful/Oh Holy Night

I know we're out of season, but here's one I keep coming back to. For those of you who may be familiar with talk radio in the Los Angeles area, this song originally aired on KFI AM 640, which hosted the Rush Limbaugh show back in the early 1990s. It was produced by Paul Charfauros of the Bill...

Baptism Doth Also Now Save Us

I don't necessarily adhere to the label of Calvinist because I believe many of the same conclusions Calvin comes to can be deduced from Scripture, but if you want to call me that, I don't mind. Back to the point, man is responsible for their damnation. Rather than allowing all of humanity to...

Baptism Doth Also Now Save Us

I would say that he was saved by the ark.

Baptism Doth Also Now Save Us

His foreknowledge is based on what He has decreed to take place in time, and that includes those whom He has predestined to salvation. That's a completely different topic that you're running off to. Chapter 3 is focused on the universal sinfulness of humanity. Chapter 9 is focused on God's...

Baptism Doth Also Now Save Us

God gave human beings the ability to experience pleasure out of love, didn't He? Man is held responsible for abusing that privilege. That doesn't negate the fact that those acts of sin were still committed as the demonstration of a sinner's rebellion against God. If you picked an apple from a...

Baptism Doth Also Now Save Us

I don't claim, nor does the Bible demand, that God's love always has to be a redemptive love. Wouldn't you agree that it's an act of love, at least on some level, to allow the lost to have all the fun that they want before they ultimately perish?

Baptism Doth Also Now Save Us

In context, Romans 9 is a continuation of Romans 8, and the nature of God's foreknowledge is defined by those whom He has predestined to salvation. Romans 8:28-30 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For...

Baptism Doth Also Now Save Us

They are judged before they make real time choices. Romans 9:11 For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth. Since God intended to glorify Himself by redeeming a...

Baptism Doth Also Now Save Us

Though this question wasn't addressed to me, I thought I'd share my analysis. Just as God knew the identity of the saved prior to creation, He also knew the identity of the lost. In that sense, the lost have been eternally judged and will all but certainly be cast into hell at the end of time.

Your favorite aspect of Jesus, aside from dying for your sins?

He fulfilled my need to forgive others. I think about how He sacrificed more than I ever can. I was attracted to light prevailing over darkness. I try to imitate His humbleness. I present His role as Savior.

Your favorite aspect of Jesus, aside from dying for your sins?

I am reminded of the "He Gets Us" advertising campaign that has been going on for the last several years. For me personally, I believe it would be a disservice to pick and choose which attributes to elevate over the others. We are to worship in spirit and truth, and that means upholding the...

Can Predestination and Free Will Coexist?

A slave is spiritually discerned until they are set free. We preach the Gospel to all in hopes that those who have been set free will hear and embrace it. The unsaved person can only respond by further suppressing the knowledge of the truth unless they are given ears to hear at the...

Can Predestination and Free Will Coexist?

What you're saying is that the slave must decide that they don't want to be a slave anymore; only then will the master comply with their wishes. That doesn't look like Grace to me.

Who wrote the Epistle to Hebrews?

That’s probably where I heard it from.

Can Predestination and Free Will Coexist?

I proved the irrationality of what was said. A slave has to be set free by the Master first to be able to freely trust in Him or freely do anything else.

Can Predestination and Free Will Coexist?

Is a slave free before the master can unbind their chains?

Everything is Not Out of Control, Everything is Under God's Sovereign Control

Agreed. Vessels of mercy are those who are in the New Covenant.

Who wrote the Epistle to Hebrews?

The original Greek is characteristic of Luke, while the theology is characteristic of Paul. One theory is that Luke transcribed it as a sermon given by Paul during his time in prison.

Can Predestination and Free Will Coexist?

John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. A person who is fallen in Adam cannot make the choice on their own to be raised in Christ. They were preaching to everyone, but only those who had been set free by the Son were able to accept the Gospel message.
