Ephesians 1 Clearly teaches Calvinism as to Salvation

How you could come up with that way to see things only demonstrates that evidence is of no value in these discussions when people hold a worldview with a tighter grip than they hold truth, or the pursuit of truth.

What's to be Done about Plummeting Birth rates?

"What's to be Done about Plummeting Birth rates?" Guess your parents never had, "the talk" with you. . . ;)

Ephesians 1 Clearly teaches Calvinism as to Salvation

Would you sit as a guest at a dinner of fine food and wine and fail to thank your host? Calvin was a brilliant theologian, and his work has helped Christ's Church. I thank God for him, and when I see Mr Calvin in glory, I will thank him as well.

    The SDA Cult

Sins that have not been repented of and forsaken will not be pardoned and blotted out of the books of record, but will stand to witness against the sinner in the day of God. Ellen G White The Great Controversy, p. 486.

    Lord What Are You Saying?

In His answer to the question, "What is the greatest commandment?", Jesus replied, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and...

    Use of Latin By Calvinists

Because Calvinists, unlike most Evangelicals, are serious students of Church history. We understand that our faith traditions have roots. Using Latin terms, as the Reformers did, keeps a connection point with them. It's a way of identifying with, and anchoring to, the Reformation and all that...

Will "Social Justice" Bring Down the SBC?

Or. . . has it already done so? Every time I turn around there is more news of the SBC turning Left, and I am saddened by what I see. TGC and ERLC have influenced a complete generation with a Leftist political agenda while many conservative Baptists have stood silently by. Can Conservatives...

The Difference Between Sola Scriptura And Biblicism (R. Scott Clark)

No that you put skin on it, I can see that there are people out there guilty of this. Fortunately for me, I just don't personally know any. Who has perfect knowledge? Where I have found any bit of balance it has been when I have spent much time with those of different opinion.

The Difference Between Sola Scriptura And Biblicism (R. Scott Clark)

I can only speak from my experience, but I don't think this is an actual problem. Again, who does this? I disagree with Frame here (but read more before getting too upset). New ideas, and/or ideas outside of out tradition should be treated suspiciously. That does not mean they are to be...

The Difference Between Sola Scriptura And Biblicism (R. Scott Clark)

Having been to a couple of URCNA churches, I would say, no. They can be very wooden (IMO). Having said that, proper self-awareness tells us that we all think we are middle-of-the-road. I don't consider Michael Horton imbalanced and he is a URCNA minister.

The Difference Between Sola Scriptura And Biblicism (R. Scott Clark)

Other's may define biblicism differently, but I like Frame's definitions. All of them can be seen in the church today, but #3 and #4 are what I think Clark is addressing in his piece. (1) someone who has no appreciation for the importance of extra-biblical truth in theology, who denies the...

The Difference Between Sola Scriptura And Biblicism (R. Scott Clark)

Oddly enough, R. Scott Clark just wrote a piece that addressed something that came up in this thread. It's too late in the game to discuss it here, but you may be interested. It hits on a comment that you make and Tom took issue with. There are far too few thinkers in the Church. Clark is a...

The Double Standard of the Left

The OP was not an attack. It was a criticism. There is a difference. However, your rant above is a personal attack that deserves censure.

The Difference Between Sola Scriptura And Biblicism (R. Scott Clark)

I've tried in other threads. Nothing happened. I have no problem with a little banter. I enjoy a little banter. Sometimes my "tone" (which is a difficult thing to determine when only is only reading) is banter, and sometimes one can perceive something that is a cultural difference and make a...

The Double Standard of the Left

Did I say that online forums couldn't do as they wished? Having said that, can an apparently apolitical forum remain ethical if it has a double standard in this regard?
