    Were There Non-Catholic Churches Before Protestants?

    Were there any non-Catholic Churches before Protestant churches came out of the Catholic Church? I was kind of hoping that was where Baptist churches had originated from without also coming out of the Catholic Church in being formed, but I guess not, otherwise Baptists would not have carried...
