I wanted to put an advertisement on Craig’s list. And to my surprise it says. Don’t use words of religion or of race that I could get a fine. You mean to say if I put the word Christian in there I’m going to get in a lot of trouble? This had to do with property renting. Since then I never returned to Craig’s list. What’s your say on this?

It is illegal to discriminate in housing based on religion or race, and that is probably why the policy is there.

That's why, if I had a home to rent or sell, I would only advertise in Christian Web sites. Of course, that wouldn't guarantee that someone wouldn't complain since non-Christians go onto Christian Web sites. A person should have the right to rent what is his to whomever he wants and refuse whomever he wants.

If I wasn't a Christian, Christian Web sites wouldn't interest me. I would go where I could be with "my kind of people"--non-Christians who wouldn't preach at me. Nor would I insist on living where I wasn't welcome.

Do you really want to go back to Jim Crow?
