How could a person who sees the words 'go up'
process them in their mind to be instructing them to 'go down'?

Is it possible for children of God to infuriate God
by such rebellious and repugnant sins
that He conceals and hides Himself
and His revelations of How He is to be Worshipped from them,
in Judgment upon them and their children and descendants?

Is that a Judgment that He would ever impose on His children?

We know that God does not accept their Worship,
    when it is based on ideas invented by men;

    "
But in vain they do worship me,
teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."
    Matthew 15:9.

When the Word of the Lord was spoken to Isaiah about it,
    he cried,
    "Wherefore the Lord said,

Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth,
and with their lips do honour me,

but have removed their heart far from me,
and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men"

    in Isaiah 29:13
    .

On the other hand there are "those whom Christ himself
    pronounces
    "faithful and true witnesses,"

and from them, a child of God may,

"learn how to testify against all informal and corrupt churches"
in this our day - against human traditions, and mutilated
    and profaned church ordinances,
and those who impiously presume to enact laws in place of Christ,
and to change the order of his Church?"

A Concise History of Baptists, by Orchard - Intro Essay by J. R. Graves, 1855

Or can they? Can they learn these things?

Can I child of God be taught how to oppose
the Apostasy of Christianity, by those who Jesus Christ called,

    "faithful and true witnesses,"

Moses was considered to be faithful by God,
as we see in Hebrews 3:5 "
    And Moses verily was faithful
in all his house, as a servant,
for a testimony of those things
which were to be spoken after".

Moses was faithful and had a testimony as a servant of God,
and yet, did the children of God learn from him?

    Hebrews 3:
16 "For some, when they had heard, did provoke:
howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

17 "But with whom was he grieved forty years?
was it not with them that had sinned,
whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

18 "And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest,
but to them that believed not?

19 "So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief."

This shows us that through "sin" and "unbelief" God's children
    "
provoked" and "grieved" the Lord, even though "they had heard"
and as a result, God brought Judgment on them,

17 "But with whom was he grieved forty years?

was it not with them that had sinned,
whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

18 "And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest,
but to them that believed not?"

Today, we have to be admonished and Commanded,

7 "Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith,
To day if ye will hear his voice,"

    Today.

8 "Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation,
in the day of temptation in the wilderness:"

It is possible for us to harden our hearts.

9 "When your fathers tempted me, proved me,
and saw my works forty years.

10 "Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said,
They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.

11 "So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)

God said, "they have not known my ways".

Are there those today who have not known His ways?

If not then, why are they opposing and changing God's Word?

    "And Moses said, Wherefore now
do ye transgress the commandment of the LORD?
    but it shall not prosper."

    Numbers 14:41.

Could God have brought His Judgment on His people, today,

for their astonishing and abominable sins,
"Who changed the truth of God into a lie", Romans 1:25a

and even though they did not know His ways,
when they made up these lies,
they also COULD BE RENDERED UNABLE TO UNDERSTAND
AND NOT HAVE THE CAPABILITY ANYMORE
TO BE BROUGHT TO KNOW HIS WAYS?

    Listen to God through Isaiah, again;

29:10 "For the LORD hath poured out upon you
the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes:

the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.

11 "And the vision of all is become unto you
as the words of a book that is sealed,
which men deliver to one that is learned,
saying, Read this, I pray thee:
and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:

12 "And the book is delivered to him that is not learned,
saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.

    13 "Wherefore the Lord said,

"Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth,
and with their lips do honour me,
but have removed their heart far from me,
and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

14 "Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work
among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder:

"for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish,
and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid."
