What a crazy report...for Duke University they put a picture of the lacrosse team.

Seriously? That's just ridiculous and inflammatory.

The whole team was cleared for the accusations against them. This is exactly why journalism can't be trusted.

>The violent crime rate in 2009 was more than ten times higher in Seattle than at #14 Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Compares apples and oranges.

>So what is your point?

The phrase, "wild west" is inaccurate. "Wild east" is more probable.

How so?

Every parent in Seattle should send their kids to any of the the "most dangerous" colleges and reduce their risk of being a victim of a violent crime tenfold.

Wait, I just realized didn't you spend your career making Seattle safer?

I live in Champaign, which is where the University of Illinois's main campus is located. Part of the campus butts up against a pretty ruff neighborhood to the north. It's the main area for crime in town. I've often though that there would be more incidences of aggression because of that neighborhood, but luckily major criminal activity seems to be somewhat rare for the campus area. Well, with the exception of last summer, when there was some racial violence.

Maybe the worst crime is the cost and the debt some of these students find them selves in.

Is College a Scam?

This is probably the most common sense statement on this thread!!

Especially considering the ROI for many (MOST?)!!
