With running our own business, we have to plan far in advance for time off for vacations, conferences, etc.

    Anyone making 2004 plans?

YES! We are going to the beach this summer. We have rented a small beach house...sounds relaxing, huh?

Then in the fall,we are headed to Disney World...not relaxing...I call it the marathon vacation...but,it is fun and we will make lots of memories! We have not been since the older girls were like 3 and 5....now,we will be taking a baby along. Should be interesting!

We only take big vacations like this every 2-3 years. Usually we have small vacations during the in between years....like St. Louis, rent a cabin on a nearby lake,Dallas(6 Flags, etc)

Molly - Cabin at the lake/beach was the main vacation of my childhood. I have fond memories and am sure your children will, too.

Lots of work for mom, though, as she still had to do all the "mom things" like cooking, etc. With the Disney-type vacation, usually every meal is out and motels have maids!

    One trip thus far.

    March, Tahoe, Heavenly, skiing.

Since this is your thread, Bob, I was up on the other end of WY skiing back in March. Spent four days at Grand Targhee. First three should have been "Grand Foggy" but on the fourth day the skies cleared. Rode up to the top of the mountain expecting to see the Tetons off in the distance. I nearly lost my breath. Grand Teton was so close I thought I could reach out and touch it. I think it was the most beautiful mountain vista I have seen and maybe the top view period.

My cousin and I are going to Penns. in February... Hubby is sending me for my Birthdy, for a mommy mini vacation, of course I'll call home 3 times a day to check on the hubby and kiddies! [IMG] Anyone have any suggestions on what I should check out while I'm there? [IMG]

We have two business trips that we HAVE to take.

January - Long Beach to Mazatlan and back on Carnival. Seminars on board (for the wife the doctor) on three of the days. Rest of the time is r/r. Not a complete vacation, but pretty nice!

July - Long Beach for a week convention of natural herbal schtuff. Taking the boys with Mom and me for the week, since all of our children have natural health ministries, too.

We are looking into a family time (mini-reunion) in Wisconsin Dells at Easter Break. But one son is having tough time to get off, so we may can that one.

And 2004 Christmas will have everyone HERE in Casper . . so maybe we'll give them all the house and WE will get a motel!!

THAT would be a vacation!

    Dr. Bob,

I'm at work, without my glasses, and when I first looked at the topic of this thread, I thought it said "2004 VATICAN Plans"! [IMG] And when I saw who started it I wondered if you had become the front man for the pope! [IMG] [IMG]

Cute! I've been to Rome only once in my life and would LOVE to go back.

If only the city wasn't filled with Italians!

Since I first learned there was an Alcan Highway it has been my dream to travel it to Alaska. We have been there twice, once by plane to take part in in a church organization and once on a cruise. But those times did not ease my yearning to drive there. So next summer Martha and I will load up and hit the trail "North To Alaska". That is if the Lord doesn't have other plans.

We are concerned about the mosquito and black fly season and when we can go to avoid those pesty critters. If anyone can help us with this info it would be appreciated.
