2008 MLB Award reaction

    What did you think of the awards?

    My biggest question: who were the people who didn't vote for Cliff Lee for AL Cy Young?

    Those who saw that Roy Halladay pitched more innings with a better WHIP and had a very good record with lower run support than Lee, all while pitching in a much tougher division than Lee. When you consider those factors, a decent case can be made for Halladay. However, I still would've voted for Lee, but it was not the slam dunk that we all thought it was, when you consider what Halladay accomplished.

    P.S. - more stats in favor of Halladay: 9 complete games vs. Lee's 4. And K/BB for Halladay, 209 to 39 vs. Lee's 170 to 34.
