2008 Tax Rebate - Did you get yours yet?

We received our $1,200 on May 7.

 

Thank you, Lady Eagle. As of now, we haven't received a dime. I'm beginning to think it's just a fairy tale. In other words, we're not counting on it, and we need some repairs done to this place.

We won't get ours until late June or July. We filed an ammended return due to college expenses. When the IRS released our money to the Reserve, it triggered a flag because we have a check coming from the ammended return. Because this other refund will be a check and not a direct deposit like our tax return, the Resrve is holding it to be released with the other.

Gotta love the way red tape works...

Got it. Spent it on car repairs.

 

Ours was scheduled to be mailed on 5/16, but we have yet to recieve it.
I did the calculator on the IRS site, and it said married filing joint we would only recieve $600. we are supose to recieve $1200. Maybe they think we're too poor for $1200.

I'm with sopranette, I don't know anyone who has recieved it, and ours should ahve already arrived. We aren't counting on it being real. And besides we're being cheatedout of half of it anyway.

I recieved $600 for each Adult (1 on Social Security, 1 not)
and $300 for each minor. Got it today. According to my last two, I was to get
the letter on 6 June (I got a note saying it was coming). I got the money
on 9 June 2008.

 

Better hurry, the price keeps going up... :laugh:

We got ours back in May but decided to save it and take some kind of vacation this year. We've never taken one since everywhere we go I end up preaching. I am going to try and spend time with just the wife and daughter... No preaching or Church... Lots of prayer. :thumbsup:

I filed an extension this year. I may never get it!:tear:

We still have recieved nothing, not even a letter saying it is coming. And it was supose to be mailed 5/16 according to the IRS website.

 

Did some research on the IRS web site and found that we are only getting $600. and not the promised $1200. because we aren't rich. You only get $1200. if you made over $85,000. since we are just under $20,000. we apparently don't need the additional $600. we were told we would receive. So much for economic stimulus, ours will go in the bank and wait. There were things we needed we won't be able to get now.
And it still hasn't arrived nearly 1 month after the mailing date, neither has this promised letter.

Tax rebate: an interesting notion--kind of like getting some of your own money back--after being overcharged.

Would anyone be interested in donating their rebate to an effort to really develop an affordable energy source which is not dependent on the foreign oil patch?

Another good cause would be to help pay down the national debt--a bankruptcy which our grandchildren will bear.

Beam me up Scottie, keep my rebate.
