2014 Books -- Goal for 2015

Goals are designed as a challenge.

I've set a goal to exercise at least 5 days a week till my vacation when I plan on climbing Mount Katadin in northern Maine.

Last year I began to develop the skill of book repairing; my goal is to repair at least five books this year.

Book reading however comes naturally to me.

I'll try to keep count but for me, you've set an unrealistically high goal.

I got a Kindle HD last July. I didn't want to. I was fine with plain old paper.... However, I just downloaded my 189th book from Mid-York Library System last night. All fiction. My recreational reading.

Most of my professional reading is still done the old fashioned way - slow, plodding and printed on paper.

 

I keep a record of the books I read. Unfortunately I am not able to read as much as I used to at the moment.

 

I picked up an Ipad in May after waiting and wondering if I'd like it.

I adjust the print size for reading without glasses.
I adjust the light to make it easy on the eyes.
and Wow - I'm a convert to the ebook!
I'm reading more than ever - and using Audible for the ride to and from work for an extra hour reading time.

I'm actually looking forward to the 12 hour ride to from Maine soon.

I have already challenged myself before. I dared myself to read 100 books within a year, but because I have been really busy with work, I wasn't able to achieve this goal. Probably in 2016, I would try to challenge myself again. Good luck to me.
