When it gets this cold it stings! I had to wrap blankets around my palm trees and tuck them in tonight.

Y'all know I'm in the middle of Wyoming. Look out my window and see Casper Mountain and its miles of ski slopes, snomobile trails, etc. It would take me 15 minutes to get to the slopes.

But it is mid-50's here, no snow or such, even the North Platte flowing placidly without ice.

Many people get the idea of Wyoming at cold and inhospitable. We actually are much more mild a climate summer and winter than, say, Louisville, KY or St. Louis.

And my daughter emailed from wisconsin where it was -10. You know, I used to pastor in that state for nearly 15 years and now I remember WHY we moved . . .

We are in the negetives tonight. Can't say as I blame you. I do not like cold either.

I am looking forward to a Heatwave Tues. It will be 54.

-27c here in Tamworth, with wind chill it feels like -34....so the weatherperson says from his comfortable, artificially heated studio. That is about 20 below zero F.

Loads of snow. It is so cold the dogs are doing their thing on the run and back indoors before I can close the door. [IMG]

    Cheers,

    Jim

This is nothing like a Wisconsin cold spell, here in Jersey. But it's still cold. I think it was 9 this morning.

Hey, anybody heard anything on global warming lately? :D

Well good citizens, it has been a little cool here as well especially with these massive tradewinds. We actually hit 59 one recent night but today it should reach 82-84.

My parents are leaving KY and coming here to visit next week. It is pretty safe to assume that the weather will be better than where they are coming from.

And I have 3 more years left over here?

It's -15 Farenheit here with winds cold enough to produce a windchill of -40. Add to that snow accumulating to 6 inches by the end of tonight, and old man winter isn't going away any day soon.

62 degrees today here in California, High desert. it' was practically spring weather out today. it was 35 degrees last night, just nippy enough to wear a jacket in the evening, as we went outside to look though a telescope at our local planetarium...at Saturn...loved that!...but 27 degrees in Florida... good night...that is pretty cold for a southern coastal state isn't it? Brrr. ;)

Here in central Oklahoma, it has been 11f in the morning, but up to 30f this afternoon. Our record for this date (24 Jan) was -8f in 1898.

Nothing like our 1st winter in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. In 1979 the low was regularly -40, plus those famous Winnipeg winds. The coldest winter there in 33 years they said. We sure picked a good year to move to the "Great White North"!!!
