:BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead:

No, that was a joke. Where has he been lately?

The people I myself have been most edified by are (no particular order):

Jarthur001
Pastor Larry
Chemnitz
npetreley
Rippon
DHK

There's many more, but I can't think of them all.

People whom I really admire, whether I agree with them or not:

(no particular order)
Scarlett O.
Helen
Brother Bob
Ed Edwards
Joseph Botwinik
Heavenly Pilgrim
gekko
webdog
Ed Sutton (he's hilarious sometimes)
tragic_pizza
this list goes on and on...

It's hard to say who's been most influential, because wisdom comes from so many here.

Soli Deo Gloria,
Dustin

Put me down as top dog #1 - RooF!!

I'm in the least and proud of it...

I don't post a whole lot on these threads, just here and there. But when I saw this it peaked my interest. Something new is hard to come by on here.

Influential in what way?

Or is it just most popular or well liked?

I don't get it at all.

And my name hasn't been mentioned. :(

Doctrine, folks! Doctrine! Not all that other stuff!

:1_grouphug:

What doctrines specifically? Calvinist or free will? Wine or grape juice? Baptist or Presbyterian? Not trying to be funny here, but exactly what doctrine?

Soli Deo Gloria,

Strange! I never figured you would be one to "toot your own horn."

Dr Bob, Barnabas Halo
I agree! , and I'd add Andrew_T and Squire Robertson, to the list as well, as the Webmaster and Administrators are all very classy, IMO. C4K would probably belong on this list as well, but he has the dubious privilege? of moderating two or three of the most contentious forums, generally, that are on the BB, so gets a bad rap, from some sometimes. However he is usually extremely fair, IMO, although a couple of times I have disagreed with a decision he has made.

I could go on and on.... But I won't
Why not? Someone would surely show you the way out, I would think! :tongue3: At least, I'm sure that a couple would probably be more than happy to show me out, anyway.

Thanks for the votes Benjamin and Dustin, although I'm not sure I really deserve it. I will, however, plead guilty to having a warped sense of humor.

Seriously, folks, the most influential are the 'top dogs' on the BB, the Webmaster, Administrators and Moderators, in that order, whether or not you or I actually usually see their hand or posts. No matter how much you or I agree or disagree with them, they have the right and power to edit, cut, remove and delete whole threads, if necessary. The most articulate of posters outside that category has no such influence, hidden or otherwise. If they deem it necessary, thay can ban any and all from the BB, permanently if necessary. Until they are accounted for in this list, the rest is nothing more than 'hot air' from any of us. Maybe the list should be the top 100, then we might have the 50 spots to fill.

How can I forget you?
Watch it! You'll become a 'marked man'! :tongue3:

Folks, I really am not seeking any votes, in any way. I listed whom I thought should be there.

Ed: "Knock! Knock!"

tinytim: "Who's there?"

Ed: "See! You've forgotten me already!!"

You know I actually woke up thinking about this list because I was afraid that someone's feelings might be hurt by it. Then I found Tiny had stolen my thunder *stomp* ;)

I only listed one person -- not because I couldn't list more -- but I woke up thinking about the categories of people that I've learned from - so here goes -- Tiny actually put names in his, but I don't even think I can do that because there are many that scoot in and out. Even the guys that joke a lot say profound things. Even the guys I disagree with, I learn from.

Those from whom I've learned
-how to speak my mind.
-how not to speak my mind.
-when to keep my mouth shut.
-biblical truths.
-biblical untruths.
-biblcal history.
-history of the bible. (a new passion of mine thanks to the bb)
-humor.
-caring, compassion & kindness.
-distance education.
-seminary education.

I guess this could go on and on too . . .

It's called 'Old-Timer's disease', tinytim, but it does seem to strike some earlier than others. :tongue3:

You're on my list!

Another twist on this thread...influential doesn't necessarily mean "good influence". There are plenty on here that definately influence others negatively which should be on a top 50 list.

Tim, are you kidding me?!?

A couple of years ago selling shoes a kid told me that his new shoe were "tight". I asked him if he needed them in the next size up, to which he replied "no, they're tieeeet." I said "so how much bigger do you need them!".
*sigh*, I guess I'm not as "off the chain" as I though I was (whatever that means)...
