The actual number, from St. Petersburg, on the border with Finland, to Vladivostok, on the Pacific, is 9,508 kilometers or 5908 miles.

Miles didn't exist when God was giving us His word. And parts of Russia are on another system besides ours, and metric.

Besides, Scripture sez 666 is the number of a MAN. And we know from Daniel he will be of ROMAN descent. However, that leaves a lotta candidates, as Romans spread all over the world. There's a few million Italians in the USA, as well as other Romans.

But I believe Russia is Magog, who'll be led by "Gog". (Any connection to "Agag" here?)

Most of us here do agree that the 666 doctrine is overrated.
When I was a kid, I remember a pastor stated that a credit card had 3 sets of six numbers.
Several years ago, when I was in West VA, I ate at a restaurant - and the bill came to $6.66. The clerk pointed at the register, as she was refusing to say - "6-6-6". I asked her to verbalize the amount - again she refused. I then mentioned I was a pastor and had no problem with that number.

The point being that there are many people with Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia.

Instead of thinking it is silly, use it as a means of witnessing. I work at a C-Store and when the amount is $6.66 - I try to initiate a conversation. Nothing solid yet - that I am aware of - but a seed was planted.

If they were worried about the alleged distance between east and west Russia, they'd be suffering from
    hexakilohexakosioihexekontahexaphobia. :Laugh

What I find amusing is that most people who fear the number 666 are also dispensational pre-mil pre-tribbers. They don't believe they will be here when the man of sin is revealed so what do they have to fear? Deep down inside do they think maybe they are wrong? :D

Will we see "him" in your opinion?

Just curious and very interested in all theories.
I feel perhaps we will see many "happenings" as the events of the day of wrath slowly increase (if it does indeed).

Adherents to the pretribulation rapture are thoroughly, uh, amusing. They think Christians, the only people who would believe the NT's warnings, won't be here to worry about those warnings, which makes all of the NT's eschatology teachings pointless -- except as crazy entertainment provided by pretribulation preachers, as those preachers stomp on the credibility of Christianity, over and over.

History has shown Christendom has had many "tribulations" and in fact is currently suffering severe tribulation at the hands of ISIS probably with more to come as the caliphate expands its stronghold.

1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

In my way of thinking, yes, but I lean toward post-trib. :)
