A little girl and the homeless

One day I went and visited some old friends of mine. They were good people, but they were very liberal.

Their little girl came up and told of her aspirations:

"I am going to help the poor" she says

Her parents are smiling ear to ear, obviously proud

"Great!" I say, "can I help you?"

"Yes" she replies

"Okay, come over to my place tomorrow, I'll pay you 20 dollars to rake my yard. When you are finished, we can go find a homeless person to give the 20 dollars to."

The little girl pauses for a minute, thinking it over than asks "Why don't you just go and hire the homeless person to rake your yard instead of me?"

"Congratulations! You just became a Republican!" I exclaim
