    Passover
    The Lamb of God

    What was the purpose of the sacrifice of the Lamb of God, the passover, the death of Jesus the Christ? What did it do?

    The Lord's passover was the fourteenth day of the first month. When Jesus the Son of the living God died on that fourteenth day of the first month, what did it begin the process of?

    What came after the passover, every year from the year they entered the promise land?

    Does what followed the passover picture anything relative to salvation of mankind?

    cleanse out, therefore, the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, according as ye are unleavened, for also our passover for us was sacrificed -- Christ, 1 Cor 5:7 YLT

    What do you think unleavened you? The passover, maybe?

    Maybe one should ask; Would the passover have unleavened me if the feast of being unleavened wasn't given to me?

    1 Cor 5:8 YLT so that we may keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of evil and wickedness, but with unleavened food of sincerity and truth.

    The feast that was for Jews to keep and or Jews and those Gentiles in the church at Corinth?

    What about the next feast, the first-fruit of the Spirit? Anything relative to your salvation? Just Jews? Acts 15:7,8 YLT and there having been much disputing, Peter having risen up said unto them, 'Men, brethren, ye know that from former days, God among us did make choice, through my mouth, for the nations [Gentiles] to hear the word of the good news, and to believe; and the heart-knowing God did bare them testimony, having given to them the Holy Spirit, even as also to us,

    Does Paul call this the first-fruit of the Spirit in Rom 8:23?

    What about the next feast? Jews only? Relative to your salvation? Rom 8:24 Paul states by the Holy Spirit we are saved to hope unseen. Hope of what ? Maybe what we, who have the first-fruit of the Spirit of 8:23, groan for within ourselves?
    Wonder what that next feast is relative to relative to our salvation?

    What about the residue of mankind?

    Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb! Now what?

    Thoughts?

    There is no actual Biblical evidence that Christ was crucified on the 14th of Nisan. Yes I know it is the common belief. But it is not in evidence.
    Mark 14:12, . . . the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, . . .
    Is in evidence the 14th was the day before the crucifixion.

    All I can tell you is, if Jesus the Christ, the Lamb of God, the LORD'S passover, did not die on the 14th day of the first month all are bound for Hell, being that was the day the LORD selected for the passover to take place.

    Ex 12:6 Darby And ye shall keep it until the fourteenth day of this month; and the whole congregation of the assembly of Israel shall kill it between the two evenings.
    YLT 'And it hath become a charge to you, until the fourteenth day of this month, and the whole assembly of the company of Israel have slaughtered it between the evenings;
    Lev 23:5 YLT in the first month, on the fourteenth of the month, between the evenings, the passover to Jehovah;
    Darby In the first month, on the fourteenth of the month, between the two evenings, the passover to Jehovah.

    From: Did Polycarp, the alleged disciple of John, know of and endorse the 4th gospel, three letters or Revelation as authentic writings of the apostle John? - Christianity Stack Exchange
    Polycarp claimed to observe Passover (as the Lord's Supper) on the 14th of Nisan with the apostle John, who is alleged to be the author of the fourth canonical gospel:

    In the mid–2nd century, the practice in Asia Minor was for the pre-Paschal fast to end and the feast to be held on the 14th day of Nisan, when the Barley was found ripe after the New Moon near the Jewish lunar month of Nisan (no matter the day of the week on which it occurred), the date on which the Passover sacrifice had been offered when the Second Temple stood, and "the day when the people put away the leaven".[5] Those who observed this practice were called Quartodecimani, Latin for "fourteeners", because of holding their celebration on the 14th day of Nisan.

    The practice had been followed by Polycarp, who was a disciple of John the Apostle and bishop of Smyrna (c. 69 – c. 155)

    Who is the idiot in the video?

    Matt 26:4,5 YLT and they consulted together that they might take Jesus by guile, and kill him, and they said, 'Not in the feast, that there may not be a tumult among the people.'

    Lev 23:6-8 and on the fifteenth day of this month, the feast of unleavened things to Jehovah; seven days unleavened things ye do eat; on the first day ye have a holy convocation, ye do no servile work; and ye have brought near a fire-offering to Jehovah seven days; in the seventh day is a holy convocation; ye do no servile work.'

    They made sure not to kill him during the seven day feast.

    The original Passover, the lamb was killed to be eaten, Exodus 12:6-11. Exodus 12:12, For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.
    Exodus 12:14, And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
    That feast day is the 15th, per Exodus 12:16-18.
    A sin offering Numbers 28:22 was later added and seven lamb offerings Numbers 28:21.

    That is correct.

    The fourteenth is the passover to the LORD and is neither a feast nor a holy convocation.
    The fifteenth is the beginning of the feast and a holy convocation also the 21st was a holy convocation.

    The lamb was killed on the fourteenth and eaten at beginning of the fifteenth.
    The lamb was killed on the fourteenth and Ex 12:7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.

    Then because of the blood shed on the fourteenth, they would be passed over, by the death angel at midnight of the fifteenth.

    @xlsdraw,

    Mark 14:12-18, And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover? And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him. And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us.
    And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover. (17) And in the evening he cometh with the twelve. nd as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me. . . .

    Verses 12-16 were the 14th.
    Verse 17 was the evening of the 15th.
