A passage of pivotal importance to Old Testament theology in the KJV

This evening, while studying a passage of pivotal importance to Old Testament theology, I noticed a huge difference between KJV of 1611 and the KJV of 1769:

1Chron. 26:18 And Parbar Westward, foure at the causey, and two at Parbar. (KJV, 1611)

1Chron. 26:18 At Parbar westward, four at the causeway, and two at Parbar.

Therefore, I have two questions for the Old Testament theology scholars on this message board who are of the KJO clan. Which of these two renderings is the inspired Word of God, and which one is not? Secondly, in your personal opinion, what is the impact on the teaching of Jesus in John 6:47 if a reader uses the wrong KJV when reading 1Chron. 26:18?

Care to show where the problem lies? And, what has John 6:47 got to do with 1 Chron. 26.18?

Surely you can NOT be serious! Did you not notice that, among other things, the 1611 rendering of this verse uses the conjunction “and” whereas the 1769 rendering uses in the same place the preposition “at,” totally changing the theological implications?

</font>[/QUOTE]"totally changing the theological implications?" What "theology" is discussed in this passage, then? What difference does "and" or "at" here here? You are again making something out of nothing!

For your information, John 6:47 reads, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life". Where is the connection, then?

You seem to spend your time on casting aspersions on the Word of God. Why not take up some serious Bible study instead?

Perhaps if you cannot understand the theological ramifications of this, you lack the spiritual eyes to understand God's Word. [IMG]

OK Ransom, lets have it here. What theological implications are there with these readings?

Titus 3:9 KJV 9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

I'm still trying to figure out what a causey is.

A raised way formed on a mound across a hollow. More fully called causeyway, now causeway, causey being now less used. Oxford English Dictionary. [IMG]

Seriously, it is a BAD question. [IMG]
Seriously, the KJV1611 reading and the KJV1769 reading
are the inspired, inerrant Written Word of God,
the Holy Bible, in English. [IMG]
