Seems that in the name of "diversity experience," some moron decided it would be a good idea for the kids to say the pledge of allegiance...to the MEXICAN flag.

Now we have conflicting accounts...the school officials say that the pledge was said by the leaders of the school assembly--not the students. Parents, some students, and purportedly a video beg to differ. Of course, we know that a school official would never lie to the public  .

    One source: http://www.ktrh.com/pages/newsarchive.html?feed=134584&article=1488088

So let me get this straight...some of our US judges have problems with the pledge of allegiance to US flag because of the "God reference"--wonder what they'll have to say about this...

And we wonder why private school and home school enrollment is skyrocketing...

Public schools in Houston often have a Christian prayer before football games. Once you violate the law, you never know where it's going to lead.

But it's unrealistic to imagine that it will always be a violation you personally enjoy.

It is educational to know how you equate Christian prayer and allegiance to another country's flag.

C'mon, be honest with yourself, at least. That's not what I said, and you know that it isn't what I said.

I said once you violate the law, you set a precedent, and that precedent will often end up where you don't want to go. You tried to make it into something else. That you did, says some rather unpleasant things about you.

    Try to do better.

We need the complete separation of education and state.

I'm for that; but until we get it, I'd settle for hanging those guilty of treason.

We can stop the Hispanicization of America or we can let it proceed, but I'm afraid those are the only two choices.

I believe only the most draconian measures will stop it. Not that there's anything wrong with Hispanics. I think their emphasis on family and their love of God are values that should be welcomed in America.

And while I'm not crazy about Hispanic music, the food is exceptional.

It's been tried. Problem is, no modern society has done so successfully. We have no model that works.

Their real values and emphases will show in their society. Mexico is a third world country, and it isn't because of the air, the water, or the dirt; it's because of the Mexicans. Likewise with Colombia, Guatemala, Belize, etc. And when they come to predominate elsewhere, the same results are to be expected.

I like 'em. I witness to them. Some of the finest people I know are illegals. I just don't care to hand my nation to them on a silver platter, as our politicians are doing.

Perhaps I was in error -- do you not feel both examples are illegal?

I would like to believe it's an error. But your follow-up suggests otherwise. Just in case it is an error, you should keep in mind that it's neither illegal nor unChristian to pray in school. It's not illegal to profess loyalty to Mexico in public schools, either.

It is illegal for the school to sponsor such things or to delegate that office to some other entity, however.

Then we are on the same page. I did not understand your earlier inclusion of Christian prayer in a discussion that was focused on an obviously incorrect if not blatantly illegal act of a school having students involved in pledging allegiance to Mexico.

This is possibly the most racist thing I have ever read on the BB!

My wife was born in Mexico, and I take offense at your remark. Please tell me what exactly makes the Mexican inferior to us good ole Americans?

    I haven't the slightest idea.

Americans produced America, Mexicans produced Mexico. If you think that both are equal, I know a few million illegals who would differ with you. They think America is preferable.

    So do I.

"Racist" is a word with no definition, so I will not defend myself against it. Use it all you wish.

Your wife is quite possibly a better person than I and a better Christian. If her IQ is in the top 2% of the population, she is quite possibly more intelligent than I. I would be happy for my daughter to marry a Mexican. My son is a missionary to hispanics. All of that says nothing about what Mexicans have produced as a people. They have produced Mexico. They don't want to live there and neither do I. And what is Mexico? Is it the soil, the air, or the water? No, it is Mexicans.

The Hispanicization of America is not good for America.

What a unique way to brag about your superior intelligence. I don't know if my wife is this smart or not, but she is certainly more modest about her abilities than you are about yours.

The fallacy is assuming that the Mexican people are responsible for their country. Through various corrupt practices, the people actually have little say in the way it works.

It would be like blaming the American people for the war in Iraq.

Call me racist, call me immodest, none of it impacts the argument. Mexico was produced by the Mexicans, the Mexicans are Mexico, and the Mexicans agree with me that America is preferable to Mexico. That's why I don't want the Mexicans exerting a controlling influence over the society I live in.

    Hispanicization is bad for America.

Americans produced America. Mexicans produced America. The Irish produced America. Chinese produced America. The French produced America. Those, and many, many others.

That law is unconstitutional and as such null and void.
    i.e.
"An unconstitutional act is not law; it confers no rights; it imposes no duties; affords no proteceion; it creates no office; it is in legal contemplation, as inoperative as though it had never been passed." Norton vs. Shelby County
