A question for conservatives

It isn't a duplicate unless you are saying there is no difference between conservatives and liberals.
Why don't you try answering the question? Would be a nice change. Do you approve of violating the Constitution for security reasons?
I answered this question in a different thread.
That is why starting multiple threads with the same topic is against the rules.
What was your answer?
You will have to go read it to find out.
You shouldn't mind having to look for it since you don't seem to see a problem with someone starting duplicate threads.

I'll interrupt Targus's and leftwingboy's love fest to take a stab at it.
The constitution is not an agreement to commit mass suicide. If having to be searched before I go on an airplane is the price to pay for safety, I am willing to pay that price.
Now the question remains as to whether or not the scans or body search option really makes us safer. I don't think it does.

I don't think we need to be groped or displayed naked before the world in order to be safe.

And you have it backwards - if you were to read the posts to this theard in sequence you will see that it is Crabby that is pestering me - not the other way around.

Don't be too hard on him...
He reminds me of an old senile uncle that used to live in our attic when I was a kid.
Nothing that he said made much sense either - but our family still tolerated him - comic relief value you know.
Yep. I would be willing to have my next-door neighbor's 2nd Amendment rights violated if his way of utilizing them was to keep an atomic bomb in his basement.

My answer is no. I prefer my freedoms and protecting myself, thank you very much. And if I think its risky of an airplane blowing up, then I will choose not to fly. I don't like choosing not to fly because someone is wanting to grope me or my family in the name of safety.

Sadly, I am afraid that a lot of conservatives feel the same way. Conservatives and liberals are very similar in this way - if either group wants the U.S. constitution violated for something they see as a "benefit" then the other group rails against them, even though they are willing to support violating the U.S. constitution in another area(s) for something they see as a "benefit".
Government power grows and grows and the U.S. constitution is shredded more and more because conservatives and liberals are both willing to see government power and intrusiveness grow - just in different areas.
Thus our republic falls.

Why is it a vioation of the Constitution if you willingy step up to the examination area?
Doesn't a doctor, nurse, PAC, etc. do that to you in an effort to protect you from your disease and physical degeneration when you willingy have him/her examine you for certain ailments?
Does their education and training make it Constitutionally legal?
I supose the possibe reason is that the TSA is a governmental entity.
Maybe the TSA should hire contract doctors and nurses to do the pat-downs?

The TSA is a government agency and is limited in power by the 4th amendment to the U.S. constitution - whether it does itself or pays someone else to do it.

I think our Founding Fathers would be horrified by the idea of the American people voluntarily placing the chains on themselves.

Lets go back to the private industry for airline security or let the airline personel do the pat-downs.
