Out of curiousity, does anyone out there have an honest-to-goodness copy of the Authorised Version? I have a reproduction, but was curious as to whether someone had the real deal.....

Sure, mine was published in 1991 by AMG International Inc. ;)

Oh, you probably meant a 1611 edition.... ;)

If anyone has a 1611 edition, I'll give you $500 for it. :D [IMG] ;)

[IMG] Sorry. OK, $600. Maybe $650 if it has King [James'] autograph in it. :D

I do believe that the going price for an actual 1611 is probably in seven figures or more...

    However, facsimiles are available...

Doh! Now if anyone has one, they won't sell it to me for $600! Thanks a LOT for spilling the beans. [IMG] :D

One sold at Sotheby's auction house a couple years back for $400,000. http://www.greatsite.com has a "She" 1611 for $130,000, and a "He" for $165,000 (they also offer a hand-written Wycliffe NT, Purvey's personal copy from 1392, for a cool $2M).

But if you *really* want a bargain, there's a "he" 1611 on ebay right now for only $98K. It's been up many times, no one ever bids on it. [IMG] The seller usually has a ton of other interesting items for auction as well, very cool stuff.

Saw an ad some time back about getting a PAGE of an AV1611 (not sure which version) and could, for a while, even choose the page.

Not sure of the cost of if it's still available. But figured someday to get one. It would be the only way I'd get a copy. Don't have 100k or whatever for the auction!

Yeah, that is why I was asking if anyone had one. I have seen the one on ebay that is continually re-listed. That is the only one I have seen.

    >>However, facsimiles are available...

Yeah, that is what I have. It was more in my price range!!!

Hey, what if we took up a collection, and purchased the one on ebay, then took turns having it in our possession? I am good for $5.00, is anyone else in with me?

i've heard the KJBO argument of availability--the one inspired Bible is the one that is preserved AND available (not like Forever settled in heaven!) Bible.

well, if what does that make the one that's $100K at Sothebys?

We have a dollar store around the corner from our place. This is true: they have KJV Mountain in the store.
