A US Civil War

IN the link which you should read yourself, it is talking about the new gun confiscation laws the Democrats, who won control of both houses and the Govenor seat, want to enact has a good number of people to include law enforcement concerned. Now that many of them have said they would not comply and have declared their countries 2nd amendment sanctuaries the new Govenor has threatened to use the National Guard to enforce them. So now the militia's are gearing up in a big way.

I have said a number of times on this board that we could be headed for a new civil war. This is all it would take. If the National Guard were to be sent in that would kick it off. I highly doubt it would stay just in VA. People from other states would come to the rescue of the 2nd Amend people. It may not happen but this is a very real possibility.

I think many people don't know what they are getting themselves into.

First, no band of a few dozen militiamen will have a chance against the current modern weapons and equipment of our modern army.

Second, thinking that you won't hand your weapons over when the swat team comes to your house is silly.

Third, when "rebelling" against a government, the rebels can't succeed with "defensive" battles especially with modern weaponry. The rebels have to go on the offense to obtain as much heavy weaponry as possible.

Fourth, without "heavy weaponry", the only way a modern rebellion will work historically is through terrorism.

Fifth, almost all rebellions throughout history have failed.

Finally, in the U.S., we have a ballot box. As long as it exists, I will use it over any form of physical rebellion.

The article indicated what one might suspect, namely that guardsmen would not comply either, and for the very same reasons—the orders would be unconstitutional.

Also, wouldn't the president be able to weigh in as well? A state acting out of line with the Constitution to that degree presents a national crisis, not just a state crisis.

There may be no call at all for any civil war, as those who would fight would be on the same side. Instead they could all go arrest the illegal lawmakers. Lock 'em up! :Thumbsup

I agree with Brannon Howse of Worldview Weekend that the Dems are "...pushing America to the brink of a Marxist-Islamic Revolution, Civil War, World War III & Globalism"

I pray that cooler heads will prevail and that individual rights under the 2nd Amendment are preserved, not only in Virginia but in every state in this nation. Keep in mind that any anti-2nd Amendment legislation passed into law in Virginia will be challenged in the courts, with SCOTUS probably having the final word. This should also motivate voters in the Commonwealth to make different choices.

Here in a Virginia I would not mind seeing the suburbs of DC extended, or territory given to Maryland, as the article states...

“Virginia Republicans, meanwhile, are adjusting to their role as the minority in a state that has steadily turned blue, driven largely by population growth in the suburbs of Washington, D.C.” - In Virginia, Democrats Get Ready to Rule the Roost

And it's always possible the National Guard would mutiny rather than make war on fellow Americans.

All the president would have to do is federalize the national guard to remove them from being under the authority of the governor.

It's hard to believe anyone in politics would be stupid enough to even suggest using the NG for such a purpose.

DC should never have ceded Arlington County to Virginia after the war.
