James what concerns me is the third purpose in their opening statement, "and ensure that citizens' rights to privacy are respected." If rights to privacy means access to rampant child pornography, which is proven to lead people to commit horrendous acts of violence, torture and other things I am not for it.

The copy right laws (75 years after a person dies is rather extreme) and I am all for revamping those numbers but am concerned about the other item.

I'm certainly against child pornography. But I am also against the government looking for it on my computer without a warrant. Or listening to my phone calls, or reading my emails, or looking through my roof with ground penetrating radar....

I would agree with you on government intrusion but I wonder openly if there is truly away to separate that which clearly leads to innocent folks being brutalized (maybe the wrong word here) and the common citizen's business which is none of the governments business?

In this nation, you are supposed be innocent until you are proved guilty. They need to have some legitimate reason to look on your computer for child porn before they can. They cannot (and should not) just simply randomly check computers.

By the same token, unless they have a warrant, they can't check your house to see if you're manufacturing drugs, pirating DVD's, or anything else.

Whenever someone looks at "big business" as conspiring to:
    1. control government
    2. interfere with privacy
    3. deny the poor

It is rediculous. Let them put their tin hats on and spend their days counting their fingers over and over again. It more anti-capitalist propaganda from the communist. They need to stay in Sweden.

Do you think 1, 2 & 3 don't happen or that it's fine when it does?

Individuals may the corporations as a whole in the form of a conspiracy do not. As far as government control they do no less then lib organizations. Special intrest lobbyists are on all sides vying for total control.

We've gone too far down the road when someone says "we can't afford to have freedom, because we need to catch crooks."
