Letting people die because of providing no medical insurance is murder.

How many people have you let die because you did not buy their medical insurance?

Don't say things like that, OR! Some liberals believe that, so long as the government provides something, it comes to us at no cost. Trying to tell them otherwise is useless.

Even if that rhetoric lead to a true conclusion about those who oppose the liberal solution to healthcare, two wrongs would not ever make a right. So of what value is your argument here against the claim that abortion is murder? Answer: none. It was a purely fallacious argument of no logical value...

    Let's see:

    1. Crabby has defended organizations like Planned Parenthood which slaughter unborn children as needful.

    2. Crabby has suggested that the Bible says life begins at birth.

    3. Crabby distracts from conversation regarding the slaughter of unborn children by making false equivalences in unrelated political issues.

So.......what do you think this adds up too? I will leave that to you to decide.

Back to the OP, I don't agree abortion is the "untouchable" issue that leaders won't deal with.

Honestly, I've heard most evangelical pastors coming out strongly against abortion. They speak well and passionately.

Now, divorce and remarriage...that's an issue they won't touch.

I would offer that the murderous act of abortion, in and of itself, is not the most heinous aspect of the sin.

At the root is not simply taking a life, but the desire to hold the power of life and death - a place for God only.

Birth control is just as heinous as abortion. How many women take birth control because they don't want any more kids? Tubes tied because she doesn't want any more kids?

Who are we to tell God we're done? What if He wants you to have 7 more kids? And you tell Him to go jump in a lake?

Would it matter a whole lot if you shook your fist at God by taking a pill, or aborting a baby, or having a hysterectomy?

If your aim is to run your own life, do what you want how you want, does it matter a whole lot how that manifests?

Did you have it done so that you would control life, regardless of what God might want?

This thread is not about legalistic views on birth control

Ummm, yes it is. Abortion is but one form of birth control.
And legalism is more focused on the outward than the heart.

So a thread devoted to only one outward act, when there are at least 3 other outward acts which flow from the same heart issue....

But it is not my intent to hurl condemnation. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. His grace is far greater than all of our failures

But maybe people can start to evaluate their motives beforehand. And it's a complete shame that preachers aren't teaching their flocks to do the same.

Taking birth control pills, snipping a guy's 'manhood', or a woman having her tubes tied doesn't kill a fetus like an abortion does...
