No. God isn't for it. He is the Creator of Life. Satan is the author of murder.

I think that it is between the person in question and The Almighty. In the end, I cannot answer for them when they have to give account for their life.

Am I personally opposed to abortion? Yes.

    Regards,
    BiR

No, a Christian should not support abortion. To do so would mean that he is out of step with the Holy Spirit.

No, a Christian cannot support abortion.

To take the view that a Christian cannot oppose abortion is un-Christian. Chnrist has said In Mat 12:30, we read the words of Christ "He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad." So any Christian that does not oppose abortion is against Christ, since abortion is the murder of a helpless and innocent being, known by God before its birth.

The more pertinent question Old Regular is this.

Does a Christian have to support every viewpoint that you think is right in order to be a Christian?

In your world then does an unenlightened Christian have the right to be wrong until you or somebody else who believes your way can correct him?

    I
It seems you did not carefully read my post. I answered the question and then quoted my Lord and Savior. If you have trouble with that, take it up with Him.

I think a more pertinent question is does a Christian have to support every viewpoint as it is taught in the Bible in order to be a Christian? Or, to put it another way, can a person live in open rebellion to the teachings of Scripture unrepentantly (such as endorsing murder...ie...abortion), and still be a Christian? I say no.

Just answer the question: Can a Christian support murder? That is what the OP is about, not whether a Christian has to support every viewpoint that I think is right in order to be a Christian.

I think many Christians are misinformed about Abortion.

I think many Christians are misinformed about many different Bible doctrines.

All Christians Grow in Grace and Understanding of the Scriptures.

I think there are some sincere Christians who have not come to the realization that Abortion is Murder and that it is clearly against the Teaching of the Bible.

They were not saved because they affirmed that Abortion is Murder. They were saved because Jesus Christ came into their heart and Gave them a new life.

If in their pilgrimage as a Christian they have never been confronted by the reality of scripture that abortion is murder then they remain uneducated in what the Bible teaches NOT Unsaved.

Do you at least admit that is possible in the Christian life?

I certainly do agree. That is the reason I believe it is incumbent on Churches, pastors, and mature Christians to speak out against abortion. I also believe that if one is truely saved God will lead them to understand that abortion is murder.

But what I have found in 25+ years of ministry is that not all the truly saved come to the realization of scriptural truth as quickly as I would like them to.

Morally, I don't think a Christian can support elective abortion. The issue of "when does life begin" aside, elective abortions are generally irresponsible behavior.

However, this is not a doctrinal issue, as scripture is somewhat silent on the exact topic. We base our views on scriptural inference and interpretation. Ultimately, this does indeed land in the arena of being between the person and their Lord. I would be judging unrighteously if, for example, a woman who was experiencing significant health-related problems in her pregnancy chose to terminate the pregnancy, especially after much prayer and consultation with her doctor and husband.
