    Faith:
    Baptist
    First the title is incorrect
As there is no such thing as the "Baptist Church"

The question should be: What are Baptist churches"

In GotQuestions.org's Statement of Faith, they speak of how The Holy Spirit saves souls, by the New Birth in Regeneration and then say(?) they have the unfortunate misunderstanding and misinterpretation of I Corinthians 12:12-14 and make the claim that The Holy Spirit "is the agent by whom Christ baptizes all believers into His body" (1 Corinthians 12:12-14).

While their description of Baptists makes all strips of present-day Baptists Landmark Baptists(?), with their origin being with Jesus Christ, this misinterpretation of 1 Corinthians 12:12-14 prevents GotQuestions.org from appreciating the Bible teaches that it is God through The Holy Spirit which guides and leads individual saved saints to be water baptized into particular local bodies of Baptized believers.

The notion that The Holy Spirit baptizes anyone or anything(?)
or that there is some relationship between that error and salvation(?),
and the idea that "all believers are somehow "baptized"(?)
by that error into one collective "body"(?) are all egregious errors.

Several heresies combine together to produce a purely demonic abomination out of, at best, shortsightedness and lack of hermeneutics that would include context.

Landmark Baptist churches consider this teaching a heresy for the prevention of membership and will treat it as a schism for members, who would be subject to church discipline, for Doctrinal Heresy.

    Section 4: The Holy Spirit

We believe in the deity and personality of the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4).
He regenerates sinners (Titus 3:5) and indwells believers (Romans 8:9).
He is the agent by whom Christ baptizes all believers into His body (1 Corinthians 12:12-14).

Their 'expertise' is here; "All of our answers are reviewed for biblical and theological accuracy by our staff. Our CEO, S. He possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Calvary University, a Master’s degree in Christian Theology from Calvary Theological Seminary, and a Master of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary. The Divine Interpretation of "the body", in 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, within its context, is here: What kind of 'body' was it, when the saints at Corinth were "baptized into one body"?

Treatments of "by one Spirit" and "baptized" will be given in other posts.
