Howdy Brothers and Sisters. One of my lifelong hobbies is the study of history. Pretty much all history, really. Though, if I had to pick on time period I find the most fascinating, it would be during the Second World War. I was born after the conflict, but I've known many people (e.g., family, coreligionists, coworkers, hunting partners, etc.) who fought in and/or were around during that time period and I've always valued their stories.

Anyway, my question is this: can anyone recommend some good books, websites, etc., of Baptist chaplains that served during World War II? It doesn't matter which Theater (Europe, North Africa, the Pacific, etc.) as I'd be curious to read any accounts.

    Thanks much. :)

Thank you for the links, Rob_BW. Much appreciated. Wowzer, the Bataan Death March. Talk about tough duty. Interesting account though.

    Thanks again. :)

"he got his Th.D. from Northern Baptist Seminary in Chicago and began his service as an air force chaplain. He saw extensive service during the war, serving with the 13th Air Force in Bismark Archipelago, New Guinea, and being involved in campaigns in Borneo, the south Philippines, Luzon, and China. He earned seven battle stars and finished with the rank of major. He wrote about his military experience in I Saw No Tears (1948)."

My friend found the book: Doughboy Chaplain by Captain Edward K. Rogers. C. 1946. Definitely WW2 chaplain.
