If an action goes against Biblical principles, does that make it a sin?

For example, if a woman isn't silent in church, is talking in church a sin?

If a man wears "long hair" as a Christian, is it a sin?

I voted other since I have trouble distinguishing biblical principles from Thou Shalt Not...

I do believe God mentioned that which is sin. Then he gave us guidelines for "Christian" living, most of which are just benchmarks to let you see how you're progressing in your perfecting process.

Nor in Bible days and all the pictures of Jesus he had long hair. Sampson's hair had to remain long.

I guess I see thin lines where people take things they believe should be Godly to the bible and find a verse to support it as opposed to letting scripture dictate to us how it would have us to be.

I belevie if the bible tells us how to live godly, God means it.

The problem is that people add what they think should be the standard to the Word of God and then claim that anyone who does not follow their standard is living in sin. Long hair on men is a perfect example. Where does the Bible say what length a man's hair should be? You will also note that the Bible says that it is a shame for a man to have long hair - it does not say it is a sin.

"Yes, it is a sin."
"If the Bible describes it as a sin, it is a sin."
"I belevie if the bible tells us how to live godly, God means it."

2 statements as poll answer options were virtually identical, then someone posts a 3rd nearly-identical statement. A Baptist, a Pentecostal, and a Church of Christ member could each make any of these statements, but the approach and practice of the 3 would stll be quite different. That shows that we are greatly influenced by what we are told the Bible means, and this will obviously apply to specific moral issues as well as our forms of worship. So I think we should be quite careful of having a stuffy attitude of I-believe-what-the-Bible-says-- indicating anyone influenced differently does not.

I will stand by what I said, the only source of knowing what godly living is is the bible.

OK. So where is that verse telling us what length our hair should be? What is the Biblical definition of short (or long) hair and where can I find it?

Please show me just where you saw me even say anything about hair. Becasue I don't see me mentioning even remotely anything about hair.
I wish people would stop making up stuff for me to not say.
