    I think I would have ranked the fall of the Berlin Wall and Soviet Union a lot higher. I wonder where these events rank in this list.

    I looked. The rise and the fall of communist Soviet Union was #45 on the list. It appears they were both considered equal in value. The book discussed the rebellion of 1917, the rise of the Soviet Union, and its collapse in 1989.

    Personally I had that feeling more with #9 and #21.


    The list is a little Americanocentric (not that there is anything wrong with that in an American magazine).
    I mean slavery in the US simply does not warrant a 12th place.

    I would have moved up the Black Death several spots. and probably demoted Hitler a bit, along with eradication of smallpox — since we're not sure it's eradicated any more.

    Where's the Enlightenment?
