Al-Zarqawi's cell phone reportedly yields surprises

I made reference to this on another thread, but thanks for starting a new thread about it. This only further proves how futile the situation is in Iraq while our troops continue to bleed, die, have their limbs blown off, and our national treasury shrinks while the national debt escalates.

 

One of the problems with fighting al Qaida has been that it was a vaporous, stateless force. Perhaps we have now given them a state of their own.

I think it would be a mistake to leave Iraq in al Qaeda's hands. We have no reason to think that an al Qaeda regime would be more benevolent than Saddam's was. This puts Iraqi polititcians in a pretty pickle: if they negotiate with al Qaeda, they risk being branded as terrorists themselves; if they cooperate with the occupiers, they are considered Quislings by fierce men with guns; if they refuse to negotiate with either, they become a target of both.

 

Iraqi politicians are only in a pickle if they choose to be. They are making their choices, which I predicted what they would be early on, since we are the infidels. The political ideologies of Democracy and islam are diametrically opposed. Therefore, this Iraqi politician behavior was easily predictable when the US-led coalition created an islamic state.

 

How did the media get this info and why are they printing it? This seems like the type of info that needs to be kept secret, take down those involved, then reveal it.
