I just saw an interview with this man on Hannity and Colmes. It was very inspiring and eye opening. The folks at the Innocence Project are doing great work and are to being applauded for standing up for justice.

    I agree.

I remember when Jim Dwyer was first reporting on the work of Barry Scheck and Peter Neufeld.

Does it make you think twice about the death penalty?

Does it bother you that a good number of such people were found innocent only because of a long, drawn-out series of appeals and stays that politicians are now working to greatly curtail?

They want a more "efficient" death penalty. And I have to agree that a swift execution of the sentence would likely be a better deterrent than it is now.

But then, if history is any indicator, we kill a fair number of innocent people in the process. How do we prevent that? Or do we just accept it as a cost of doing executions?

    Galatian,

How was Alan exonerated? DNA. I would make it a requirement that death penalty cases have DNA as the burden of proof to allow for the death penalty. Without it, life in prison.
