Do you want us to list the things we personally think are taboo for ourselves, or the things that people in our churches would mostly agree are taboo?

There is a few.

 

OK, here's a few items I feel answer your call:

- guns (good one for your "cultural differences")
- overeating and/or eating things bad for you (e.g. donuts)
- masterbation
- body modification (piercings, tatoos, sculpting, implants, etc.)
- polygamy (perhaps another "cultural" one)
- birth control

That's part of my "serious" list, but in your first post, you said "items that are not specificially mentioned as sin but we feel don't edify the body". I don't think it's an either/or choice, as there are many "neutral" things, such as "making paper airplanes" and "ballet". My list would be much longer if I include such things.

Okay, I'll be brave.

Owning any guns other than hunting rifles. (See, Brian is right--cultural thing). I believe this opinion would be shared by the majority of those in my church, although not all.

Sport hunting and fishing. If you kill it, you'd better either eat it or make an item of clothing out of it, or better yet, both. I believe this would be the consensus of my fellow church members, too. (Perhaps a cultural thing again).

Immodest clothing--probably shared by those in my church, but defined variously.

Profanity and vulgarity--but these also tend to be somewhat culturally defined.

Going to strip joints.

Watching professional wrestling.

Obvious public displays of physical affection.

Cigarettes, but not necessarily the occasional after dinner Cuban or pipe. (Perhaps also cultural, not sure)

National flags in church sanctuaries.

And, for good measure, here's one that I personally don't think is taboo, but it would be considered taboo by some in my church: Military service (My baptist church was founded by both baptists and mennonites.)

These are a few of my taboo things.

 

You wanted a list. I like some of the others that were listed as well though I though you wanted some that we had to make application of principle to speak to not ones that are outrigh wrong like women preachers, porn and strip joints.

Therapy, now thereis another one for the list - Pagan therapy or Biblical counseling, which do you use?
