So why are you calling Allen "Macaca"? Isn't that a racial epithet?

I thought they had an automatic recount in Virginia?

    Cheers,

    Jim

PS. What does "macaca" mean? I am not familiar with that word.

Why no! Allen says it's not. CLICK HERE

For a good laugh, check out the Macaca Blues.

BTW, that probably cost enough votes to give the Senate to the Democrats. So let's all give a hand to Sen. Allen, and welcome to the REAL world of America!

So racism is your bag? The more you reveal about yourself the less integrity you display.

You sure need to buy a brain somewhere hillclimber. You don't get sarcasm. It is not I who used the term except in satire toward the rightie who did, the racist senator from Virginia, the one who kept a noose and rebel flag in his office while governor. If you think I am racist, you are definitely off your nut.

Yep. "Macaca" is inscribed in big letters on Allen's political tombstone.

While the rest of you hack away in mud, let me address the rational and logical Jim:
No. The candidates may request a recount if the vote total is within a certain margin and that recount is paid for with taxpayer dollars. It must be requested by the candidate.

    Thanks Tom.

I would suggest then, Mr. Allen was quite magnanimous when he conceeded the election the other night, knowing he could have had a state sponsored recount....I didn't see the final count.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Webb has a 7,000 vote margin of victory. A recount wouldn't change that by very much, if at all. The re-canvass of votes in the Montana race on Wednesday, where there was a button that failed to get pushed in one county when votes were being tabulated, didn't change the total, and that margin was just over 3,000 votes. I give Mr. Allen credit for saving the taxpayers the expense of a recount and acknowledging that it wouldn't change the outcome of the race.

Recounts only provide hope for candidates in extremely close races, where the totals are within fewer than a couple of hundred votes.

Thanks Jack, Yes I appreciate what you are saying. We don't always get the numbers up here in Canada. The news just said it was close......

    Cheers,

    Jim
