But that was supposed to be a one time - never again.
Looks like he was wrong.

Well it was one time, never again during his administration.

However George W. Bush gave amnesty also.

Two of the last three Republican presidents — Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush — did the same thing in extending amnesty to family members who were not covered by the last major overhaul of immigration law in 1986.

There was no political explosion then comparable to the one Republicans are threatening now.

Of course let's just leave out that Reagan faced STRONG opposition from the house republicans. And conservatives have always claimed that this was a betrayal.

The O/P is dishonest and hateful.

Am beginning to find myself chuckling at CTB's threads before I even open them.

Crabby, you are too predictable.

The OP is more than just that - Reagan signed a bill passed by Congress into law, he didn't just issue an EO like Obama did. But then, Obama isn't white, so no biggie.

Not showing any bias or prejudice at all, eh, Crabby?

Preach, just trying to enter a few threads to counter the exceedingly numerous hate Obama threads.

The GOP has a very selective memory forgetting what they did in the past that now the condemn Obama for doing the same thing.

You do realize he has not issued nearly as many executive orders as some presidents in the past.

If I presented you two criminals:
Criminal A has committed 10 robberies, but only stolen $50 total.
Criminal B has committed 1 robbery, but stole $4 million and shot a security guard.
Would you still think Criminal A was the worse criminal, simply because he has committed a greater number of crimes?

If I presented you two baseball players:
Player A has 165 hits on the season, and has driven in 25 runs.
Player B has only 100 hits on the season, but has driven in 60 runs.
Do you think Player A is the more valuable player to his team, simply because he has more hits?

The number of times a President exercises Executive Order is meaningless compared to the ranging effects of those orders.

Preach, but apparently what you are opposing includes many presidents. Must not be illegal.

Pres. Dwight Eisenhower:
1956

By executive order, circumvented immigration quotas to allow 900 orphans to join their adoptive families in the U.S.

1956-1958

By executive order, allowed 31,000 Hungarian anti-Soviet insurgents to emigrate.

1959-72

By executive order, allowed 600,000 Cubans fleeing Castro to emigrate. [PDF]

Pres. Gerald Ford:
1975

By executive order, allowed 360,000 refugees, mostly from from Vietnam, to emigrate.

1976

By executive order, allowed 14,000 Lebanese nationals to emigrate.

Pres. Ronald Reagan:
1981

By executive order, allowed 7,000 Polish anti-Communists to emigrate.

1982

Allowed 15,000-plus Ethiopians to emigrate.

1987

By executive order, rescinded deportation of 200,000 Nicaraguans.

1987

By executive order, deferred deportation of undocumented children of 100,000 families. [JSTOR]

George H.W. Bush:
1989

By executive order, deferred deportations of Chinese students.

1989

Who said I oppose anything? You don't know what stances I take.
I don't think you can solve illegal immigration through mass deportation at this point. But blanket amnesty is also not the route I would take. There is a middle ground to be sought.

The analogy is this:
Imagine you owned a 30 acre plot of land that was quite wooded except for the place where you built your house. After a certain amount of time you found me living on the back portion of your property, with power lines strung up tying into your house, a water hose run off your back porch, and blankets taken off your clothes lines. Instead of being able to remove me as a trespasser, the local law enforcement told you I had a right to be there and using your power and water, but not contributing your paying for it in any meaningful way.
How would you feel about that?

Is it open season on a mulatto President Obama -
OR
is it open season on Liberal Obama POLICIES!

If conservatives were against blacks would we be supportive of men such as Dr. Ben Carson, Tim Scott, Herman Cain, Col Allen West, J.C. Watts, Clarence Thomas.....

More distortion and propaganda - the "but but but they it, too!" defense. No, most of those executive orders cited in that chart were not really executive orders by their own source -

http://www.immigrationpolicy.org/si...y_immigration_relief_1956-present_final_4.pdf

and the above is from the "American Immigration Council", not exactly a non-partisan source.

The suspension of the deportation of the "dreamers" is one thing, but the later EO was the first EO EVER to grant work permits and SS numbers.

Yep, Old Regular, they try to compare Obama's EO to Reagan signing a bill from a Democratic Congress (only time EVER, they said at the time).

Attorney General Paxton Asks Federal Judge for Discovery to Investigate Obama Administration Misrepresentation
AUSTIN – The Texas Attorney General's Office today filed a motion for discovery after the Obama Administration admitted that tens of thousands of expanded work permits have already been issued to illegal immigrants, in contradiction to the facts the administration presented in U.S. federal court.

“In an apparent attempt to quickly execute President Obama’s unlawful, unconstitutional amnesty plan, the Obama Administration appears to have already been issuing expanded work permits, in direct contradiction to what they told a federal judge previously in this litigation,” said General Paxton. “The circumstances behind this must be investigated, and the motion we seek would help us determine to what extent the Administration might have misrepresented the facts in this case.”

The Democrats lied during the Reagan administration and did not keep their deal to close the border.

Now the Democrats are in a bad way and they need ten to twenty million more Mexicans in order to take control of the elections. Democrats think that Mexicans are stupid enough to vote for them and that Mexicans are stupid enough to work cheap forever for rich Democrats who are too lazy to tie their own shoes.

Democrats are power-hungry and will do anything no matter how low in order to grab power, shred the Constitution, burn the flag, and establish one-party rule forever in the USA. And Democrats have the power of hell on their side.

You stay around long enough you will learn that rational thinking is not in Crabby's DNA. But being a far left democrat is!

Crabbie is always, always, complaining about how Republicans hate the poor and downtrodden, wanting them to sleep under bridges and die in the streets. Now he presents a long list of Nobel Deeds, I say Nobel Deeds by compassionate Republicans and moans, groans, and complains about it. As I said earlier rational thinking is just not in Crabbies DNA!
