    During chapel this morning I was gazing at the advent candle and this following short poem formed in my mind:

    Advent candle shed your light
    In the blackness of my nights
    Be a spark unto my soul
    Guiding me on 'til I am whole.

    Advent candle shed your light
    In the blackness of my nights
    Be my guide 'til I am told
    You are safe--within the fold.
